Book Discussion Group: We continue with Nativities & Passions: Words for Transformation written by Martin Lee Smith, SSJE. The discussion group is open to anyone at any time. It meets after the 10:00 am service and wraps up around noon time. Please come and give it a try.
Thursdays at Three: Waiting With Mary – Join us for an exploration of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of our Lord. This special offering will include music, poetry and other writings, as well as images of Mary from around the world. This very sacred time will be held in the North Transept of the church. Thursdays at 3:00 pm, December 6, 13, 20.
Morning Prayer Returns to CHS: Beginning December 6, Morning Prayer will be offered every Thursday at 8:30 am in the side chapel.
Attention High Schoolers: The High School Sunday Class is invited to Father Adam’s house (the Rectory) for dinner and Bible study and will be led by Father Adam, Lori Linton, and Sarah Kelb. We will be meeting from 5:00 pm to 6:15 pm on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. Hope to see you there!
Coffee Hour: There will be coffee and cookies in the Reception Room after the Saturday service on Saturday, December 1.
First Fruits Christmas Sale: Sunday, December 2 from 9:00 am to 12 noon in the parish hall. You’ll find a variety of special holiday selections, including festive arranged greens, gift basketsm jams and jellies, and delicious baked goods.
Advent Wreath Making: First Advent, Sunday, December 2 in the Gathering Room, sponsored by the Church School. Bring greens if you can and the Church School will supply all the necessary materials to make your Advent wreath. Come and join the creative joy to begin the Advent season.
Church School: Saturday, December 8 – Christmas Pageant rehearsal: 5:00 pm – main characters; 5:30 pm – entire cast; 6:15 pm pizza party followed by Gingerbread House making. Sunday, December 16 – Christmas Pageant costumes assigned. Monday, December 24 – Christmas Pageant. Please sign up NOW for Gingerbread House making as we need a count to order the houses. Sign us poster is in the Gathering Room. All are welcome!
Advent Quiet Day: December 15 at Christ Church in Harwich Port. Come for a day of quiet reflection in anticipation of our Lord’s birth. Offered by Pastoral Associate Sarah Kelb. We will start at 9:30 am with closing prayers and dismissal at 3:00 pm. Carpooling will be available and please bring a bag lunch.
Christmas Flower Envelopes: Envelopes are now available. Please print clearly the names of those you wish to have remembered, and also your pledge number. Enclose your donation, made payable to The Church of the Holy Spirit Fund. Place in the offering plate or drop off at the office. Deadline is Sunday, December 9. Thank you.

Holiday Antiques Show and Sale: Many thanks also to the whole parish for the support of the 35th Annual Holiday Antiques Show and Sale. Thanks to the patrons of the show, as well as to all who volunteered so willingly of their time, skills, and efforts.
CHS Artist: The featured CHS artists for the month of November are the dynamic duo Janet Winter and Nancy Ranscht. Janet Winter has had a long career in art, including painting in oil and watercolor landscapes, as well as commercial work. Nancy Ranscht is an award-winning black and white photographer. Enjoy their show in the CHS gallery and reception room.
Free Shop: We are now accepting clean winter clothing. If the Free Shop is closed, donations can be left in the container outside the Free Shop door. We are open Mondays from 12 noon to 3:00 pm and Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Galley West: Winter hours are now in effect. The shop is open from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon and on Sundays during our coffee hour from 11:15 am to 12:00 noon. The St. Martha’s Guild meets on Mondays at 10:00 am in the Fireplace Room. We are open to all and would love to see you!
2013 Stewardship Pledges: Through Monday, November 19, we have received 110 pledges for $206,146, including 7 new pledges. Thank you! If you did not receive a pledge packet, please contact the parish office or pick one up at the reception desk. Pledges returned will be blessed at today’s in-gathering services with an additional opportunity next weekend. Thank you for returning your pledge. Pledges received after December 2 will be individually blessed.
