Church School: Monday, December 24 – Christmas Pageant 4:30 pm – All cast members arrive in the Gathering Room at 4:00 pm. January 6 – Epiphany Trope & Gifts to the Christ Child. Bring an unwrapped gift to be presented to the Christ Child. These toys will be given to children in need in December 2013. Children attend church with their family this Sunday (1/6), then after the Trope children go into Church School.
Adult Christian Education: Sundays from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Please join us as we continue our reflective group study of John’s Gospel, “JOHN ONE.”
Book Discussion Group: We continue with Nativities & Passions: Words for Transformation written by Martin Lee Smith, SSJE. The discussion group is open to anyone at any time. It meets after the 10 a.m. service and wraps up around noon time. Please come and give it a try.
MORNING PRAYER RETURNS TO CHS: Morning Prayer will be offered every Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m. in the side chapel.
Healing Prayer: Will be offered following the 10:00 am service on Sunday, December 23 in the choir area of the church.
HOMELESS GUESTS AT HOLY SPIRIT ON CHRISTMAS DAY: Thanks to the great volunteers from our Overnights for Hospitality team, we will have 4 to 7 men for dinner on Christmas Day and overnight. We plan on giving each man a gift card for use at any stores in the Cape Cod Mall. If you would like to contribute toward the gift please give a check or cash to Fr. Ken earmarked: Christmas Gift. (Checks made out to: N.I.A.).
CHS Artist: The featured CHS artists for the month of December is The Church School. We are all on the way to Bethlehem. We are all making the journey. We are all getting ready to enter the mystery of Christmas. There are still a few months “open” in 2013 to exhibit/sell your art in CHS GALLERY. Free Shop: We are now accepting clean Winter clothing. If the Free Shop is closed, donations can be left in the container outside the Free Shop door. We are open Mondays, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Galley West: Starting January 7 the Galley West gift shop will be open Mondays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. – 12 noon. The guilds as well will be starting up on January 7.
Gentle Yoga at CHS: Please join our morning Yoga class. The class is lead by Marilyn Green- berg and suitable for all levels. We will meeting from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. in a church school class- room, downstairs in the Parish Hall. The class is offered at $10/class. Please bring a blanket, yoga mat, block and strap (we do have some extras). Next class December 28.
EPIPHANY FRIDAY MONASTIC LUNCH SERIES: During the Epiphany season, beginning January 4, bring a salad or sandwich to share lunch on Fridays at 12 noon in the Parish Hall (beverages provided). We will eat in silence while watching a 20 minute DVD featuring well known progressive scholars/theologians titled Living the Questions. CHRISTMAS DINNER – Reservations not needed, just show up! Our Lady of the Cape Parish on Stony Brook Rd. in Brewster invites all to join us for Christmas Dinner. Dinner will be served at 12:30 p.m. in the Parish Center. Meals can also be delivered to the homebound.
