Saturday Services – Beginning next Saturday, March 2, the Saturday evening Eucharist will begin at 5:00 pm. The Saturday service is held at 4:00 pm during the winter months to accomodate the shorter days, but now that spring is around the corner and the days are getting longer, it’s time to shift back to 5:00 pm. Remember that Daylight Savings begins on Sunday, March 10 — don’t forget to Spring Forward!

Wednesday of Holy Week – March 27
5:00 pm – Children’s Stations of the Cross
7:00 pm – Holy Eucharist (with the Washing of the Feet)
Noon to 3:00 pm – “Three Hours”
7:00 pm – The Vigil and First Eucharist of Easter
7:30 am and 10:00 am – Holy Eucharist
Adult Education – Sundays at 9:00 am. For our three sessions in March (March 3, 10, and 17), we will return to our reflective group study of John’s Gospel. Participants may join at any time! Adult Sunday School sessions will NOT be held on either Palm Sunday (March 24) or Easter (March 31). We will pick up Sharon Inger’s lively series on Women of the Hebrew Scriptures again in April. Morning Prayer returns to CHS – We will observe Lenten shifts during Morning Prayer. Don’t miss the opportunity to add Morning Prayer to your Spiritual discipline as we journey together through these 40 days. This liturgy is held every Thursday morning at 8:30 am in the side chapel.
Fridays in Lent – The Church of the Holy Spirit will offer opportunities for devotion, food, fellowship, and reflection. Beginning on Friday, February 15, the first Friday of Lent, the Stations of the Cross devotion will be offered in church at 5:30 pm, led by a number of clergy and lay worship leaders. After Stations, a simple soup and bread supper will be offered in the parish hall at 6 pm. Signup sheets for hosting this supper will be posted in the reception room. At 6:30 pm, we will offer Jesus at the Movies, watching a thought provoking movie together. As before on Lenten Fridays, people may participate in whatever portion of these that they desire.
Healing Prayers – Healing prayers will be offered on the fourth Sunday following the 10:00 am service. Fathers Herb Skelly and Bill Heuss will officiate with assistance from the Health Ministry.
Men’s Study Group Invites New Members – The Men’s Study Group meets each Tuesday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the craft room at the far end of the Sunday School area. We are just finishing a series of Old Testament lectures and will begin on February 26 a series on the New Testament. We welcome more men to the study, which includes a half-hour taped lecture by Professor Bart D. Ehrman, with discussion, plus free-wheeling, frequently humorous conversation about our lives as we gather week by week. Please feel free to come and try it out. Questions? Eastham-Wellfleet Shepherd Group – Will meet March 17 at 5:00 pm at the home Kathy and Nat Goddard, 905 Doane Road, Eastham. Bring something yummy to share and Mort Inger will present a lovely program.
CHS Artist – The featured CHS artists for the month of February are Robin & Sharyn, Sharyn & Robin: HANDS FOR WORK – HEARTS FOR GOD. Robin McLaughlin is a costume designer and creator of Journey Bags by Robin Elizabeth Creations. Sharyn Laughton is a liturgical graphic artist and designer. Calling CHS artists to sign up to sell/exhibit your art for one month in 2013. MARCH IS OPEN! The sign-up sheet is by the exit door in the Gallery Reception Room.
Free Shop – We are now accepting clean spring clothing — please no more winter clothing. If the Free Shop is closed, donations can be left in the container outside the Free Shop door. We are open Mondays from 12 noon to 3:00 pm and on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Galley West – We are now open on Sundays from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon and on Mondays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The Guilds have started up for the new year as well! Thank you for your support.

The World Day of Prayer – Friday, March 1 – is a worldwide ecumenical movement of Christian women of many traditions who come together to observe a common day of prayer each year on the first Friday in March. The organizing committee from France chose the theme “I was a Stranger and You Welcomed Me.” Please join us (men and women welcome) at the Federated Church in Orleans at 1:00 pm.
