Join the Church of the Holy Spirit in welcoming Vox Fidelis, renowned early music vocal ensemble, in their performance of The Triumph of the English Renaissance on Sunday, July 21 at 4:00 pm. This special appearance is the final one in their brief Cape Cod summer tour.
Vox Fidelis is a professional choir under the direction of Timothy Smith, dedicated to the performance, cultivation, and promotion of sacred Renaissance polyphony, and its place in traditional sacred liturgy. Vox presents concerts and leads church services throughout the northeastern United States, including Vespers, Lessons & Carols, Lenten meditation, and music for Benediction. Vox also leads a regular Compline series at Christ Church, Bordentown, New Jersey. Vox Fidelis is a member of the Guild for Early Music.
Vox Fidelis member Stephen Bearse is a Cape Cod native. The group will be performing in Falmouth, Dennis, Chatham, and Orleans during their four-day Cape Cod tour this summer.
The concert at Church of the Holy Spirit in Orleans will feature selections by Tallis, Taverner, Sheppard, and Byrd, among other great composers of the English Renaissance. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Church of the Holy Spirit. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, and tickets are available by calling the parish office at 508-255-0433.
