Sunday, October 13: Adult Education, at 9 a.m. – Parish Hall. “John One” – On the Sundays of October we will continue our group “lectio divina” – reflective reading and conversations around short passages, gradually working our way through the Gospel of John. No prior reading or “homework” required! Please join us for this lively, thoughtful discussion.
Monday, October 14: Happy Columbus Day! The CHS office will be closed and the Guilds will not be meeting.
Thursdays at Three at 3 p.m. – North Transept of the Church. The series on Thomas Merton continues October 17 and October 24. We’ll be discussing selections from The Sign of Jonas (Mariner Books, ISBN-13: 978-0156028004), as well as providing an introduction to Merton’s life and work.
Tuesday, October 15: Living the Questions: This film series, will be offered at both 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the Church Library. Sunday, October 20: Children’s Sabbath: 10 a.m. Service: Children’s Sabbath is a faith-based national program celebrating all our children in prayer and celebrating our responsibility to care for each one. The children will be in Church for the whole service and will be involved in ushering, processing, reading one of the lessons, reading their own Prayers of the People, and of course they will sing!
