Sunday, November 10: Adult Education at 9 a.m. in the Parish Hall. Leviticus: A Study of the “Law” in its own context and ours (led by Sharon Inger). Come and take a look at the third book of the Old Testament with us. November 10: Sacrifice and purification – what is really going on here? November 17: The Holiness Code – what does Leviticus say to us today?

Sunday, November 10: Book Discussion Group. After the 10 a.m. service in the Fireplace Room. Continuing discussion on Lauren Winner’s book Still: Notes on a Mid-Faith Crisis.

Tuesday, November 12: Living the Questions at 12:30 p.m. in the Library. The final weeks on Transformation led by Fr. Ken Campbell. Call 508-240-5169 or ksbcampbell@verizon.net. November 12: Creative Transformation. November 19: Embracing Mystery. A 25-minute video with discussion following. Coffee provided.

Thursday, November 14: Thursdays at Three at 3 p.m. in the Gathering Room. East Asian Brush Painting and the Writings of Thomas Merton. The Rev. Dr. Judith Davis, Rector of Christ Church Episcopal in Harwich Port, will lead us in a series of “Thursdays at Three” in November (14, 21). No previous art skill is necessary for these Thursday sessions. Participants will observe a demonstration each week and practice techniques of East Asian Brush Painting.

Saturday, November 16 & Sunday, November 17: Kennedy Memorabilia. Doug Delano has an amazing collection of Kennedy memorabilia which will be on display in the Parish Hall on Saturday, November, 16 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sunday, November, 17 during the coffee hour. Doug’s collection also includes recordings of President Kennedy’s inaugural address and other speeches which you will hear as you enjoy looking at his collection.

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR: Save the date: Saturday, November 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We will have our usual offerings from the food table, cheddar cheese, cookie walk, jewelry, scarves, pottery, crafts, Christmas decorations, White Elephant and much more. Also enjoy a delicious lunch of soups and sandwiches. Please leave any “Elegant White Elephant” in the Fireplace Room after November 10. There is a basket in the Reception Room for jewelry and scarf donations. Please come. There’s something for everyone!

Thursday, November 28: Our Thanksgiving Service with Eucharist will be held at 10:00 a.m. Due to this service, there will be no Morning Prayer or Centering Prayer.

Thursday, November 28: Thanksgiving Dinner is being served at: The Elks in Eastham from 12 Noon to 4 p.m., 508-255-4238; The United Methodist Church in Wellfleet from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., 508-349-7217; and the West Dennis Community Church on Route 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., 508-398-6420.

SAVE THE DATES – The 36th Annual Holiday Antiques Show and Sale Friday, November 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, November 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Admission is $5. per person ($4. with a discount ad or ticket).

ATTENTION YOUTH! Your help is needed! The church is looking for volunteers to serve as acolytes for the 10 a.m. service. If you are in grades 3-12 and would like to serve, please let Deacon Sarah know ASAP to get on the schedule. Training will take place as needed directly after the 10 a.m. service.

CHS Artist: The featured artist for the month of November is Wilma Morris. Don’t miss the beautiful “hand & heart” of Wilma! Calling all CHS artists (ALL 65 of you) to consider showing/ selling your art one month in 2014 – the early months of 2014 are still OPEN! Comments? Stewardship: Pledge packets to make your 2014 pledge to The Church of the Holy Spirit have been mailed. If you have not received yours, please contact the parish office and we will get one mailed to you. Please prayerfully complete your pledge and return ASAP. Pledges will be blessed at services the weekend of November 23 / 24.

NEW FAIR TRADE ITEMS: In addition to four kinds of coffee from moderate to a strong blend we have added Chilean Flame Raisins, a dark chocolate bar without nuts and a fruit and nut dark chocolate bar. We also have a mixed berry healthy snack bar!
