It’s that time of year! Food For Kids (F4K), our summer outreach program to end childhood hunger is coming back to life after a short winter rest.
The March Gallery (reception) Room display is sponsored by Food For Kids. The display will be an educational and informational experience for everyone in our parish and those who visit us during March. The display will also include opportunities for all ages to sign up to help at any time during our 8 weeks of operation, June 30-August 22, 2014. Financial donations are welcome and needed to purchase children’s books, lunch treats, supplies and to raise the quality of our meals throughout the
summer. F4K served almost 10,000 meals (snacks and lunches) during the summer of 2013!
All of our sites in Truro, Wellfleet, Eastham and Chatham are returning this year, so the need is great.
Did you know that 1 in 3 children on Cape Cod is at risk for hunger? Children who are hungry can’t learn, get sick more often, feel ashamed, don’t understand why, and are frustrated which can lead to depression and violence. Childhood Hunger is hidden on Cape Cod behind all the beauty of our environment. We want to help to make a difference, but don’t know how. Here is a chance for all ages to make a difference.
Come and see our display. You will love the pictures!
