Easter Flower Envelopes are in the pews this weekend, March 29 and 30 and next weekend, April 5 and 6 so that you can offer flowers in memory of (or in thanksgiving for) loved ones. Please print clearly on the envelopes your name and those for whom the flowers are given. Include your donation and place your envelope in the Offertory plate. Deadline – Monday, April 7.
Sunday, March 30: Adult Education at 9 a.m. – Parish Hall. Continuing through April 6 – John One. Fr. Adam continues a meditative reflection on the Gospel of John. Sunday, March 30: Presentation of He is Going on a Journey – at 10 a.m. This is a short play by children in the Church School, directed by Ruth Campbell. Children attend church with their families and go to class after the play.
TIME TO FILL THE EGGS – Empty plastic eggs can be picked up by the fireplace in the CHS Gallery/Reception Room. Eggs can be filled with WRAPPED candies (please, NO peanuts or peanut butter), small trinkets and returned to the same place. Thank you for making this annual & traditional Easter Egg Hunt so wonderful for our CHS children & visitors!
Lenten Quiet Day – Due to unforeseeable circumstances, our Lenten Quiet Day has been cancelled.
Thursdays at Three: We will not be holding any programs during Lent, so please join us for our Friday evening programs.
Fridays in Lent: Stations of the Cross will be offered at 5:30 p.m. followed by a Soup and Bread Supper at 6 p.m., in the Parish Hall followed by Jesus at the Movies at 7 p.m. Please come to any or all of these offerings. Sign up sheets are posted in the Reception Room.
PASSOVER SEDER: Once again the Am HaYam Havurah Jewish congregation on the lower/ outer Cape will celebrate their Passover Seder at Holy Spirit on Tuesday of Holy Week, April 15. Wednesday, April 16: CHURCH SCHOOL FAMILIES & their extended families – make your supper choice for WALKING THE WAY OF THE CROSS & SUPPER at 5 p.m. on Holy Wednesday, April 16. Sign up poster is on Youth bulletin board in the Gathering Room. The service begins at 5 p.m. (NOT 5:30) in the church.
Friday, April 11: Taize ́ in Orleans 7 p.m. in the Church. Taize ́ is an interdenominational service which incorporates readings from scripture, silence, sung and spoken prayer and singing simple, repetitive and melodic songs. Special musicians will include cellist, guitarist, flutist, and pianist. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to participate in this special service as we enter into Holy Week.
CHS Artist: The featured artist for the month of March is FOOD FOR KIDS coordinated by Ruth Campbell. The display will be an educational and informational experience for everyone in our parish and those who visit us during March. The display will also include opportunities for all ages to sign up to help at any time during our 8 weeks of operation, June 30-August 22, 2014. Contemplative/Centering Prayer: Silent, meditative prayer will be held every Tuesday at 12 noon and on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in St. Dunstan’s Chapel, located in the lower level of the church. All are welcome. Free Shop: Hours – Monday, 12 Noon to 3 p.m. and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Free Shop is now accepting SPRING clothing – please no more WINTER!
