Sunday, April 27: Adult Education. Sunday mornings during the Great 50 Days of Easter we’ll be taking a close look at the Resurrection Narratives, including the Synoptic Gospels, Acts, and 1 Corinthians. Meet in the Parish Hall at 9 am on Sundays, April 27 through May 25.
Sunday, April 27: Going to the Son High School Class Retreat Fundraiser. During the coffee hour this Sunday our high school Sunday School class will be hosting a bake sale, selling car wash tickets to Ye Old Carwash in Orleans for $10, and raffling off a planter filled with gardening tools, seeds, soil, and one hour of work from the kids who will be going on this retreat. Please support our kids in this worthwhile endeavor.
Sunday, April 27: Shepherd Groups. The Brewster/Dennis Group meeting has been cancelled this month. The Eastham/Wellfleet Group will meet for potluck at the home of Kathy & Nat Goddard, 905 Doane Rd, North Eastham (508-255-3818) for our Second Annual Poetry Festival. Call Jody (508 255 4058) or Patti (508 255 3532) for a ride. The Orleans Group will meet for hors d’oeuvres and good cheer at Bill & Judy Gardiner’s, 35 Payson Lane, East Orleans. Thursday, May 1: Women’s Luncheon to Support the Baby Center. The monthly luncheon for all women of the parish will begin at 12 noon in Parish Hall. This month we are remembering the needs of the Baby Center in Hyannis and ask those attending to bring a package of diapers to the luncheon. The package can be any size. The important thing is to help those who go to the Baby Center for their children’s needs. Bring a sandwich to share and a friend. Chips and ice cream sandwiches are provided. Thursday, May 1: Thursdays at Three. Wisdom Literature at 3 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Sharon Inger will lead a 4-week study of The Wisdom Books: A Study of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Job.
Saturday, May 3: Angelica Speakers Series: Jesus the Jewish Storyteller. Our first guest speaker will be Amy-Jill Levine, author and Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies at Vanderbilt University, at 2 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Please contact Tom Dewing at 508 -255-2656 to purchase a ticket.
Sunday, May 4: Orchestra concert. On Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the Parish Hall, the Cape Community Orchestra, John P. Hagon music director, will present a concert of orchestral favorites. Selections include music by Brahms, Ravel, Stravinsky, Offenbach, and a performance of two movements from Dvorak’s “New World Symphony.” Admission is free (free-will donations accepted). The orchestra includes members of the Church of the Holy Spirit congregation.

Friday, May 23: Walking the Labyrinth. The labyrinth is a spiritual walking exercise that quiets and centers you to encourage meditation. The labyrinth will be available from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Friday, May 23 for silent reflection, with music and votives at 10:00 am. Please join our labyrinth community and help us “bring life to the labyrinth” at our church.
Tuesday, May 27: Justice & Peace Film. Fr. Ken will show “Martin Luther King in Palestine,” on Tuesday, May 27 at 9:30 am in the Library. Please call Fr. Ken if you want to attend this film as space is limited.
Planned Giving: “Procrastination.” We all know that word! During the month of April members of the Planned Giving Committee have provided information to help you to take the next step in your planning process. Starting a “Family Legacy Plan” and/or selecting a “Charitable Gift Annuity” are two options available. The information is available at the Parish Hall Display Table or on our website under the Planned Giving page.
CHS Artist: The featured artist for the month of April is Pia Mackenzie. Much of Pia’s inspiration has come from the Psalms – especially Psalm 148. Fifty percent of the proceeds of this show will be given to CHS. Don’t miss Pia’s show — always creative, inventive & inspirational! Contemplative/Centering Prayer: Silent, meditative prayer will be held every Tuesday at 12 noon and on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in St. Dunstan’s Chapel, located in the lower level of the church. Free Shop: Hours – Monday, 12 Noon to 3 p.m. and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Free Shop is now accepting SPRING clothing. Donations can be dropped off any time the Parish Hall is open.
