blossomSunday, May 18: Adult Education – At 9 a.m. in the Parish Hall – Through May 25; “Texts of the Resurrection”, Sunday mornings during the Great 50 Days of Easter, we will be taking a close look at the Resurrection Narratives including the Synoptic Gospels, Acts and 1 Corinthians.

Sunday, May 18: Book Discussion Group – after the 10 a.m. service in the Fireplace Room. In anticipation of Bishop Griswold’s visit on June 14 and 15, the book group will be reading his book: Going Home, an Invitation to Jubilee. All are welcome to participate.

Sunday May 18: Shepherd Groups – Eastham/Wellfleet Group: Will meet at Sharon and Mort Inger’s home at 10 Ira Freeman Lane, Wellfleet. Orleans Group: Will meet at 5 p.m. in the home of Bev and Wes Dreher, 15 Prides Path, Orleans, MA. Please call them at 1-508-255- 4433 if you able to attend.

Wednesday, May 21: Men’s Lunch Group –  Men’s lunch groups will continue meeting on every third Wednesday of the month from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Fireplace Room. The purpose of the men’s lunch group is to provide a forum where men of the parish can meet together informally for lunch and general collegiality. Members bring their own lunch while snacks and coffee are pro- vided. For interested inquiries call Bruce at 508-801-0654 or Brian at 774-279-3454.

Thursday, May 22: Thursdays at Three – Wisdom Literature at 3 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Sharon Inger will lead a 4-week study of The Wisdom Books: A Study of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Job.

Friday, May 23: Walking the Labyrinth – The Labyrinth is a spiritual walking exercise that quiets and centers to encourage meditation. At 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. the walk is candle-lit and accompanied by music courtesy of Darlene Hagon. The Labyrinth is available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for silent reflection. Please join our labyrinth community and help us “bring life to the labyrinth” at our Church.

Tuesday, May 27: Justice & Peace Film – Fr. Ken will show “Martin Luther King in Palestine,” on Tuesday, May 27 at 9:30 a.m. in the Library. Please call Fr. Ken if you want to attend this film as space is limited.

Saturday, May 31: Habitat for Humanity – Holy Spirit Team, Bevan Way, Orleans – sign up in the Reception Room. Needed: folks to help with Lunch and Construction. Join us, won’t you?

Summer Fair – Save the Date – Saturday, July 26, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. We need your ideas and help! There will be sign up sheets in the Parish Hall for volunteers. Now is the time to start saving paper back books (no hard covers, please) summer toys, games, bikes, sports equipment, beach stuff. Church drop-offs will begin in June! Questions? Toast and Jam is coming back – Monday, June 2, 2014 Bluegrass and Folk Concert in the Parish Hall, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p. m. Bring your own beverages, snacks and friends (Beer, wine or soft drinks) $15 donation per person. Tickets will be for sale in May at Sunday coffee hours. Friday, May 30: We Are All Misfits – The Sharing the Blessing Committee will host a community event featuring author, James Howe. Mr. Howe has written more than eighty books in the thirty-plus years he’s been writing for young readers. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. in the Par- ish Hall, followed by a pizza dinner at 6 p.m. and a talk and discussion from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.

Friday, June 6: Garden Party – Please join us for the June Garden Party from 8:30 a.m. to 12 Noon. As usual come when you can and leave when you need to. We’ll be doing some serious weeding so please come prepared and bring a friend!

CHS Artist – The featured artist for the month of May is Kathy Fitch. Kathy uses water based oils to create paintings with an “Impressionistic” flare. Enjoy Kathy’s show!

Contemplative/Centering Prayer – Silent, meditative prayer will be held every Tuesday at 12 noon and on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in St. Dunstan’s Chapel, located in the lower level of the church. All are welcome. If you are interested in participating in a small contemplative prayer group at another date and time, please contact Nancy Crewdson at 650-714-1862 or email at nancy@cambria.com.

Free Shop: Hours – Monday, 12 Noon to 3 p.m. and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Free Shop is now accepting SPRING clothing. Donations can be dropped off any time the Parish Hall is open. If the shop is closed – there is a container outside the Free Shop door for your dona- tions to this vital CHS Ministry. Sharyn Laughton: 508-255-7277.

Galley West Gift Shop – We will be open Sundays 11 a.m. to 12 Noon and Mondays from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon. Please come and support this valuable ministry at CHS.

Thursdays at Three – In June we will feature a series of stimulating documentary films. In the first one on June 5, The Stones Cry Out, the indigenous Christian community in Israel-Palestine tell their story. For more information please see Fr. Ken.

Trip to the Holy Land: Have you ever thought of making a trip to the Holy Land? Bishop Gayle Harris is leading a mission pilgrimage in Israel and Palestine on Nov. 9-21 and invites members of the diocese to join her. For more information go to http://www.diomass.org or contact the office.
