Sunday, June 1: Book Discussion Group – after the 10 a.m. service in the Fireplace Room. In anticipation of Bishop Griswold’s visit on June 14 and 15, the book group will be reading his book: Going Home, an Invitation to Jubilee. All are welcome to participate.
Sunday, June 1: THIS SUNDAY – YOUTH RECOGNITION SUNDAY – the Church School and the Shepherd Groups are sponsoring a Pot Luck Parish Cookout on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. just after the 10 a.m. service (hotdogs and hamburgers will be provided.) Please come to this wonderful intergenerational event! Also our High School Sunday School Class will be hosting a car wash after both Sunday services. This fundraiser is to help with funds for their High School Class Retreat, July 8-July 15 to Glacier National Park, Montana. Please support our kids with this worthwhile endeavor.
TOAST AND JAM IS COMING BACK! MONDAY, JUNE 2, 2014 – Bluegrass and Folk Concert in the Parish Hall, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p. m. Bring your own beverages, snacks and friends (Beer, wine or soft drinks) $15 donation per person. Tickets will be for sale in May at Sunday coffee hours. Thursday, June 5: THURSDAYS AT 3 p.m. in JUNE will feature a series of stimulating documen- tary films. The first one on June 5, The Stones Cry Out, the indigenous Christian community in Israel-Palestine tell their story. For more information call Fr. Ken at 508-240-5169.
Friday, June 6: Garden Party – Please join us for the June Garden Party from 8:30 a.m. to 12 Noon. As usual come when you can and leave when you need to. We’ll be doing some serious weeding so please come prepared and bring a friend!
Thursday, June 5: Women’s Luncheon – 12 noon in the Parish Hall. All women of the parish are invited to the last luncheon until September. Pat Carroll and Betty Yearing are bringing dessert and Marty Williams and Susan Owens are in charge of chips, etc. If you need a ride call Peter Blank, 508-760-1516. Saturday and Sunday, June 14 & 15: The Most Rev. Frank Griswold, 25th Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church – Bishop Griswold is our second speaker from the Angelica Center 2014 Speaker Series. Listen to his lecture on Grace at 2 p.m. on Saturday the 14 with a question session following. He will also be preaching at the 10 a.m. service on Sunday the 15. CHS Artist: The featured artist for the month of June is Leslie Jones. Leslie’s exhibit consists of prints of her original watercolors, which include her responses to the beauty of Cape Cod and of Oxford, England. Enjoy Leslie’s show! Plans have begun for the CHS summer fair on Saturday, July 26. Not too early to begin planning to be a “vendor” and/or donate one of your “creations” to the CHS ARTISTS SHOW. Contemplative/Centering Prayer: Silent, meditative prayer will be held every Tuesday at 12 noon and on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in St. Dunstan’s Chapel, located in the lower level of the church. Free Shop: Hours – Monday, 12 Noon to 3 p.m. and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Free Shop is now accepting SPRING/Summer clothing. Donations can be dropped off any time the Parish Hall is open. Summer Fair – Saturday, July 26, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Please sign up now in the in the Parish Hall. Drop off times for your donations are June 9, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and continue Monday thru Friday until the Fair. Paperback books may be left in the designated classroom in the lower Parish Hall. All other summer related items, including bikes, toys and games, beach things, sport equipment may be left inside the Craft House. Costume jewelry can be dropped off at the Parish Office.
