Summer Fair – Saturday, July 26, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The Fair is only a month away, so please sign up to help in some way, large or small. We need kitchen staff to serve lobster rolls at lunch, cashiers at various tables, flower arrangers and flowers on the day before the Fair as well as Saturday morning, and volunteers willing to take a short shift to relieve other tireless volunteers. Come and join the fun and help to raise funds for Food For Kids. Drop off donations: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday – Friday. All summer items such as bikes, sports equipment, beach things, picnic baskets, toys and games, puzzles may be put in the Craft House. Paperback books may be dropped off in the designated classroom in the lower parish hall. Costume jewelry may be left in the church office. We will not be accepting clothing for sale at the Fair. Summer Choir: Part of our tradition at Church of the Holy Spirit is to provide a Summer Choir for the 10 a.m. Service each week (June 22 – Aug. 31). Singers of all voice ranges are invited to come any Sunday for a rehearsal in the Church at 9 a.m. prior to the 10 a.m. service. Since this is the only weekly rehearsal available during the Summer, we ask those who wish to participate on Sundays to be present for this important rehearsal at 9 a.m. Vestments are not worn. Please come and join the choir any Sunday and bring your relatives and friends. All are welcome. Darlene Hagon
July and August Garden Parties: Friday, July 11, 8:30 a.m. to Noon and Friday, August 15, 8:30 a.m. to Noon. Please put these dates on your calendars and consider them in your summer plans. We’ll continue with general clean up, weeding and trimming. Coffee, donut holes and cold drinks provided. Come when you can and leave when you need to. Bring a friend!
Education for Ministry (EfM): Is a program of study and reflection on the Bible and on Church history and theology. We meet every week, September through May. CHS Artist: The featured artist for the month of June is Leslie Jones. Leslie’s exhibit consists of prints of her original watercolors, which include her responses to the beauty of Cape Cod and of Oxford, England. Enjoy Leslie’s show! Contemplative/Centering Prayer: Silent, meditative prayer will be held every Tuesday at 12 noon and on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in St. Dunstan’s Chapel, located in the lower level of the church. Free Shop: Every summer (July & August) we ask regular volunteers and members of the church to work one Monday (noon to 3) and/or one Wednesday (10 to 1). Two volunteers are needed for each day. The sign up poster is in the CHS Gallery/Reception Room. If the Free Shop is closed, donations can be left in the container outside the Free Shop door in the lower level of the Parish Hall. Galley West Gift Shop: Summer hours- Starting June 16 – Sundays from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon; Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon. For these extended hours during the summer, we NEED volunteers.
