Sunday, September 14: Adult Sunday School, 9 a.m., Parish Hall. Through the end of September, we will be taking up again our gradual interactive reading of John’s Gospel. No homework required! And you don’t have to have come before. Each week a very short passage is read and then becomes the topic for open conversation. Father Adam facilitates and provides occasional back-ground material to heighten the discussion. Perhaps it’s a little like group “lectio divina.” Join the circle; we’d love to have you with us.

Sunday, September 14: 2014-2015 Church School begins September 14 – 9:30 a.m. Registration forms have been mailed – if you did not receive one, please call the office.

Adult Choir rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in the north transept of the church. Sunday warm-up rehearsal is at 9 a.m. in the church prior to the 10 a.m. service. The Bell Choir rehearses in the Parish Hall on Mondays at 1:30 p.m. Although reading music is a great help, it is not a requirement to participate. Questions? Call 508-255-0433 ext. 13 and leave a mes-sage or stop by our office (down the hall from the Fireplace Room) after the 10 a.m. service on Sun-days. Darlene and John Hagon

Thursday, October 2: 3 p.m. Doubt in the Parish Hall. Mark your calendars for an outstanding staged reading of John Shanley’s play Doubt. This play about deference to church authority and sexual abuse is, according to Ross Douthat of the NYT, the best dramatization of this tangle. This play for four actors is mesmerizing. Come see Jody Mines, Bernie Hutchens, Lori Linton and Nancy Crewd-son at their best.

Friday, October 3: The Holy Spirits Acting Club 10:30 a.m. in the Fireplace Room. If you are interested in participating in a twice-monthly play reading group – reading not performing – please come to an organizational meeting. For additional details, contact Jill Holmes at 508-945-3944.

Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18: FALL RUMMAGE SALE – Now is the time to set aside your much needed donations for this popular sale. Please bring clean adult and children’s clothing and shoes and boots in wearable condition. We will need White Elephant items such as small appliances in WORKING order. We cannot accept televisions, computer equipment, luggage without wheels, LP records, food, live plants or golf and ski equipment. Small furniture sells well as do books and children’s toys. Put this date on your calendar and set aside some time to come help with set-up and the sale itself. Meet new friends and have a good time!

CHS Artist: The featured CHS artists for the month of September will be those in the High School Sunday Class who participated in the Going to the Son Retreat this last July. The display will include art, poetry, photography and additional items which capture a bit of our experience in the wilds of Glacier National Park, Montana. Please sign up to show/exhibit/sell your art or craft for one month in 2015! The 2015 sign up sheet is located on the shelf by the gallery door. Call Sharyn Laughton at 508-255-7277 or artoff@comcast.net.
