PAGEANT COSTUMES ASSIGNED – Sunday, Dec. 14.

Sunday, December 7: YOUTH CHOIR – There will be a rehearsal immediately following the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, December 7 and Sunday, December 21.

Sunday, December 7: Book Discussion Group – after the 10 a.m. service in the Fireplace Room. We are reading Amy Jill Levine’s Short Stories by Jesus, an exploration of the parables from the perspective of the people who heard them first hand. All are welcome.

Sunday, December 7: First Fruits Christmas Sale from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Spectacular Christmas greens arrangements, gift baskets, jams and jellies and baked goods!

Friday, December 12: Walking the Labyrinth at 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall. The Labyrinth is a spiritual walking exercise that quiets the mind, opens the heart and centers the body to encourage meditation. Margaret Rappaport facilitates a walk on our indoor canvas Chartres-style Labyrinth. The 10 a.m. walk is candle-lit and is accompanied by music courtesy of Darlene Hagon. The labyrinth is available for individual walks from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Parish Hall.

This Advent Experience a Prayerful Walk in Conversation with God, Friday, December 12: At 5:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. An evening Labyrinth walk with Eucharist followed by a light dinner. We will come together in soft candlelight to walk our labyrinth. With sacred music to guide our shoeless steps, we will open ourselves to silent conversation with God. The meditative evening will continue as we gather at God’s table to share in a simple Eucharist. The evening will conclude with a light soup dinner. Finger labyrinths will also be available. Sunday, December 14: The 10 a.m. service will be a Taize Eucharist. A little different – beautiful and meditative. Please bring a friend to enjoy this special service!

CHRISTMAS FLOWER ENVELOPES are in the pews. Please print clearly the names of those you wish to have remembered, and also your Pledge number. Enclose your donation, made payable to The Church of the Holy Spirit Fund.  Place in the offering plate or drop off at the office. Deadline: Monday, December 15. Thank you.

Sunday, December 14: Shepherd Groups: The Orleans Shepherd Group and the Brewster/Dennis Shepherd Group will not meet in December. See you next year! Eastham/Wellfleet: Will meet at 5 p.m., at the home of Fay and Ike Cole, 180 Hay Rd, Eastham.

Stewardship: Pledge packets have been mailed to homes. If you did not receive one please
contact the Parish Office. Through December 1 we have received 134 pledges for $330,793. Thank you for your generosity. Pledges received will be blessed on an In-Gathering Weekend – November 29/30 and December 6/7.  Offertory Envelopes: All envelopes for the 2015 pledges paid on a weekly or monthly basis are in the Reception Room. Please take your box and help us avoid postage. If you need envelopes please contact the Parish Office.

CHS Artist: The featured CHS artists for the month of December is Cynthia Murray. Once again, Cynthia shares her creche collection with us. This year she asked parishioners to add their nativity sets to make this year’s array even more special. Please sign up to show/exhibit/sell your art or craft for one month in 2015! Free Shop: The shop is now accepting WINTER Clothing. All donations can be dropped off any day the parish hall is open. If the shop is closed there is a container outside the door. The shop is open Mondays 12 noon to 3 p.m. and Wednesdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sharyn Laughton 508-255-7277 or

Galley West: Will be open in December from December 8 through December 19. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday, 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Also the shop will be open on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon. We will have a brief respite and will be opening again in January on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 12 noon and Mondays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Thank you.

Habitat for Humanity: Snacks needed to feed our hungry volunteers! CHS is sponsoring a build on Bevans Way in Orleans. We will need snacks on the 4th Tuesday of every month starting on November 25 through the spring of 2015 until the house is completed. Please call Kathy Goddard at 508-255-3818.
