Sunday, December 14: The 10 a.m. service will be a Taize Eucharist. A little different – beautiful and meditative. Please bring a friend to enjoy this special service!

Sunday, December 14: CHURCH SCHOOL – Pageant Costumes assigned for the Christmas Pageant Cast – Dec. 24. Total cast should arrive in the Gathering Room at 4 p.m.

Sunday, December 14: Book Discussion Group – after the 10 a.m. service in the Fireplace Room. We are reading Amy Jill Levine’s Short Stories by Jesus, an exploration of the parables from the perspective of the people who heard them first hand. All are welcome.

Sunday, December 14: Shepherd Groups: The Orleans Shepherd Group and the Brewster/Dennis Shepherd Group will not meet in December. See you next year! Eastham/Wellfleet: Will meet at 5 p.m., at the home of Fay and Ike Cole, 180 Hay Rd, Eastham.

Wednesday, December 17: MEN’S LUNCH – We will meet every third Wednesday of the month from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm in the Fireplace Room. For interested inquires call Bruce Lederhouse (508-801-0654) or Brian Skea (774-279-3454).

Sunday, December 21: YOUTH CHOIR – There will be a rehearsal immediately following the 10 a.m. service. We look forward to hearing them sing at the Christmas Eve Service at 4:30 p.m.

CHRISTMAS SERVICES: Wednesday, December 24: Christmas Pageant and Eucharist, 4:30 p.m. and Christmas Eve Choral Eucharist, 10 p.m. Thursday, December 25: Christmas Day Eucharist with Carols, 10 a.m.

Sunday, January 4, 2015 – THE EPIPHANY TROPE & GIFTS TO THE CHRIST CHILD – 10 a.m. service. Parishioners bring unwrapped toys to the “Christ Child”. These gifts are stored in the CHS attic until December when they are brought to the Cape Cod Council of Churches Christmas Gift Shop.

Sunday, February 1: YOUTH GROUP BREAKFAST – Please come to this special breakfast after the 10 a.m. service.

CHRISTMAS FLOWER ENVELOPES are in the pews. Please print clearly the names of those you wish to have remembered, and also your Pledge number. Enclose your donation, made payable to The Church of the Holy Spirit Fund. Place in the offering plate or drop off at the office. Deadline: Monday, December 15. Thank you.

Stewardship: Pledge packets have been mailed to homes. If you did not receive one please contact the Parish Office. Through December 1 we have received 134 pledges for $330,793. Thank you for your generosity. Pledges received will be blessed on an In-Gathering Weekend – November 29/30 and December 6/7.
Offertory Envelopes: All envelopes for the 2015 pledges paid on a weekly or monthly basis are in the Reception Room. Please take your box and help us avoid postage. If you need envelopes please contact the Parish Office.

CHS Artist: The featured CHS artists for the month of December is Cynthia Murray. Once again, Cynthia shares her creche collection with us. This year she asked parishioners to add their nativity sets to make this year’s array even more special. Please sign up to show/exhibit/sell your art or craft for one month in 2015! RECEPTION ROOM CRECHES:  Be sure to stop and see the collection of Cherished Creches on display in the reception area during the month of December. Members of Church of the Holy Spirit have generously shared some lovely manger scenes along with their delightful histories. Free Shop: The shop is now accepting WINTER Clothing. All donations can be dropped off any day the parish hall is open. If the shop is closed there is a container outside the door. Galley West: Will be open in December from December 8 through December 19. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday, 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Also the shop will be open on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon. We will have a brief respite and will be opening again in January on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 12 noon and Mondays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Thank you.

Habitat for Humanity: Snacks needed to feed our hungry volunteers! CHS is sponsoring a build on Bevans Way in Orleans. We will need snacks on the 4th Tuesday of every month starting on November 25 through the spring of 2015 until the house is completed. Please call Kathy Goddard at 508-255-3818.
