Sunday, December 28: Book Discussion Group – after the 10 a.m. service in the Fireplace Room. We are reading Amy Jill Levine’s Short Stories by Jesus, an exploration of the parables from the perspective of the people who heard them first hand. All are welcome.

Sunday, January 4: THE EPIPHANY TROPE & GIFTS TO THE CHRIST CHILD – 10 a.m. service. Parishioners bring unwrapped toys to the “Christ Child”. These gifts are stored in the CHS attic until December when they are brought to the Cape Cod Council of Churches Christmas Gift Shop.
Thursday, January 8: Women’s Luncheon at 12 noon in the Parish Hall. We changed the usual date as the first Thursday in January is New Year’s Day! Please bring canned goods for the Food Pantry and a sandwich to share – chips and dessert will be provided. Volunteers for the day: Hope Fox and Betty Yearing. Friday, January 9: Walking the Labyrinth at 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall. The Labyrinth is a spiritual walking exercise that quiets the mind, opens the heart and centers the body to encourage meditation. Margaret Rappaport facilitates a walk on our indoor canvas Chartres-style Labyrinth. The 10 a.m. walk is candle-lit and is accompanied by music courtesy of Darlene Hagon. The labyrinth is available for individual walks from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Parish Hall.
Monday, January 19: MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DAY – The Annual Martin Luther King Breakfast sponsored by the Nauset Interfaith Association will take place on Monday, January 19 at 8:30 a.m. sharp in the Parish Hall. Our guest speaker this year is Callie Crossley, well known PBS broadcast journalist. A capacity crowd is expected so come early and get a seat! Questions? See or call Fr. Stewardship – Offertory Envelopes: All envelopes for the 2015 pledges paid on a weekly or monthly basis are in the Reception Room. Please take your box and help us avoid postage. If you need envelopes please contact the Parish Office. Through December 17 we have received 170 pledges for $333,160. Thank you for your generosity.
CHS Artist: The featured CHS artists for the month of December is Cynthia Murray. Once again, Cynthia shares her creche collection with us. This year she asked parishioners to add their nativity sets to make this year’s array even more special. Please sign up to show/exhibit/sell your art or craft for one month in 2015! Artwork (Creches): Be sure to stop and see the collection of Cherished Creches on display in the reception area during the month of December. Galley West: After Christmas we are taking a brief respite and will then open again in January on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 12 noon and Mondays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Thank you.
Habitat for Humanity: Snacks needed to feed our hungry volunteers! CHS is sponsoring a build on Bevans Way in Orleans. We will need snacks on the 4th Tuesday of every month starting on November 25 through the spring of 2015 until the house is completed. Please call Kathy Goddard at 508-255-3818.
