Wednesday, April 22: First Garden Party of the season! We will be cleaning the gardens from 9 a.m. and until 12 noon. We need to rake the beds, trim the grasses and the various winter kill. Coffee and Hole in One donut holes provided.
Thursday, April 30: WELCOMING PARTY FOR PARISH NEWCOMERS – Newcomers who have been welcomed into our parish family in the past year will soon receive an invitation to a reception in the Parish Hall on Thursday, April 30 from 5 to 7 p.m., hosted by the Welcoming Paths Team. We will serve wine, beer, soft drinks and appetizers. Babysitting will be provided! Vestry members will also attend so they can get to meet the many wonderful new members of our parish.
Saturday, May 2: The Rev. Fleming Rutledge will speak at 2 p.m. in the Parish Hall followed by refreshments and a Q and A. She will be addressing us from her forthcoming book The Crucifixion: Understanding the Death of Jesus Christ, the product of almost 20 years of work. Tickets: suggested donation of $20. Sunday, May 3: Youth Sunday – Following the 10 a.m. service, our youth will be serving breakfast cheese stratas, juice and fruit cups. Come to the Parish Hall and enjoy a delicious brunch!
Planned Giving: Did you finish and send your IRS Taxes in on time? Now may be the best time to take the next step and create your “Family Legacy Plan” (FLP). Members of the PG Committee have a “FLP Work Sheet” available on the Web Site.
CHS Artist: For the month of April – several parishioners have joined together to exhibit their art, craft or hobby in progress. This show has been coordinated by Jan Roberts with staging by Sharyn Laughton. If you would like to exhibit/sell your art in the CHS Gallery for one month – please sign up! Children Activity Bags: Are available at every entrance for loan to keep our children “busy” during the service. Please feel free to take advantage of them.
COFFEE HOUR HOSTS: Just a reminder; you can sign up for hosting coffee hour in the Parish Hall. We need new participants! Beverages are provided. You just need to bring something to go with them! Thank you, Michele Puzo
Free Shop: The shop is now accepting SPRING clothing. Donations can be dropped off any day the Parish Hall is open. If the shop is closed there is a container outside the door. NOAH – No Other Affordable Housing: CHS supplies the NOAH kitchen with the evening meal on the 4th Friday of each month. We bake casseroles, make cookies and offer salads and desserts. We need more bakers! If you can help, please call Georgia Schneider at 508-255-2368.
PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY: Prayer shawls are knitted by parishioners, blessed and given to help our friends who are ill, recovering, bereaved or distressed. Should you know of such a need, please phone the church office or Helen Richardson at 508-255-0065.
Welcoming Committee: The next Sundays are some of the most important days of the holy year. We will have new friends joining us for these services. Please make them feel welcome by helping them find a place in your pew and sharing a prayer book or a hymnal. You might also extend an invitation to them to join us for Coffee Hour.
