The Rev. Fleming Rutledge, noted preacher, teacher, and author, and one of the first women ordained in the Episcopal Church is speaking at the Church of the Holy Spirit next Saturday, May 2, 2:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. A $20. donation is suggested, but not required. Reservations are recommended, but not required. Mrs. Rutledge is also preaching at the 10:00 a.m. service on Sunday, May 3. Don’t miss it! Sunday, April 26: Book Discussion Group – The book discussion, which takes place after the 10 a.m. service in the fireplace room, will be reading Dallas Willard’s masterpiece, The Renovation of the Heart. All are welcome.
Thursday, April 30: WELCOMING PARTY FOR PARISH NEWCOMERS – Newcomers who have been welcomed into our parish family in the past year will soon receive an invitation to a reception in the Parish Hall on Thursday, April 30 from 5 to 7 p.m., hosted by the Welcoming Paths Team. We will serve wine, beer, soft drinks and appetizers. Babysitting will be provided! Vestry members will also attend so they can get to meet the many wonderful new members of
Sunday, May 3: Youth Sunday – Following the 10 a.m. service, our youth will be serving break-fast cheese stratas, juice and fruit cups. Come to the Parish Hall and enjoy a delicious brunch!
Friday, May 8: Walking the Labyrinth at 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall. The Labyrinth is a spiritual walking exercise that quiets the mind, opens the heart and centers the body to encourage meditation. Margaret Rappaport facilitates a walk on our indoor canvas Chartres-style Labyrinth. The 10 a.m. walk is candle-lit and is accompanied by music courtesy of Darlene Hagon. The labyrinth is available for individual walks from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Parish Hall.

GARDEN PARTY! Friday May 15th, 9 am to noon. Spring garden clean up. Weeding, raking, fertilizing, trimming. All are invited, no experience necessary! SUMMER FAIR – SAVE THE DATE: SATURDAY, JULY 11
A planning meeting for the SUMMER FAIR will be held on Wednesday, April 29 at 10 a.m. in the Fireplace Room for all interested volunteers. If you have worked on the Fair or wish you had, please join us on April 29. Also, please start saving good condition books, jewelry, scarves, white elephant items and attic treasures. We will begin accepting donations in June.
Planned Giving: “Procrastination”. We all know that word! During the month of April members of the Planned Giving Committee have provided information to help you to take the next step in your planning process. Starting a “Family Legacy Plan” and or selecting a “Charitable Gift Annuity” are two options available in the Website.
CHS Artist: For the month of April several parishioners have joined together to exhibit their art, craft or hobby in progress. This show has been coordinated by Jan Roberts with staging by Sharyn Laughton. If you would like to exhibit/sell your art in the CHS Gallery for one month – please sign up! Children Activity Bags: Are available at every entrance for loan to keep our children “busy” during the service. Please feel free to take advantage of them.
COFFEE HOUR HOSTS: Just a reminder; you can sign up for hosting coffee hour in the Parish Hall. We need new participants! Beverages are provided. You just need to bring something to go with them! Thank you, Michele Puzo
Free Shop: The shop is now accepting SPRING clothing. Donations can be dropped off any day the Parish Hall is open. If the shop is closed there is a container outside the door. NOAH – No Other Affordable Housing: CHS supplies the NOAH kitchen with the evening meal on the 4th Friday of each month. We bake casseroles, make cookies and offer salads and desserts. We need more bakers! If you can help, please call Georgia Schneider at 508-255-2368.
