labyrinth_4Sunday, May 31: Eastham/Wellfleet Shepherd’s Group – NEW DATE FOR THIS MEETING – At the Goddards’ home for the 3rd Annual Poetry Fest (pot luck) at 5 p.m.

Saturday May 30th.  A special Happy Birthday to parishioner Kate Paradise!  Hooray!  (Sorry we forgot you in the bulletin.)

Women’s Luncheon.  Please Note: There will be no Women’s Luncheon in June, July and August.  We will resume on September 10.

Sunday, June 7: YOUTH GROUP BREAKFAST – Come one, come all and enjoy a delicious brunch hosted and prepared by the Youth Group. In the Parish Hall after the 10 a.m. service. This month: stuffed French Toast—YUM!

Tuesday, June 9: HIGH TEA WITH JAN SWAFFORD – Please come for a discussion and book signing at Church of the Holy Spirit from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Jan Swafford is a world renowned composer, teacher and author of Beethoven: Anguish and Triumph. Tickets are $25. Enjoy savories, sweets and lots of door prizes! Proceeds to benefit the Eastham Library Building Fund, Inc. 501(c)3. Tickets available at or at Main Street Books, 46 Main Street, Orleans. Any questions please email: and you will be contacted.

Friday, June 12: WALKING THE LABYRINTH – 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall. The Labyrinth is a spiritual walking exercise that quiets the mind, opens the heart and centers the body to encourage meditation. Margaret Rappaport facilitates a walk on our indoor canvas Chartres-style Labyrinth. The 10 a.m. walk is candle-lit and is accompanied by music courtesy of Darlene Hagon. The labyrinth is available for individual walks from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Parish Hall.

Sunday, June 14: ALL-PARISH COOKOUT immediately following the 10 a.m. service, sponsored by the Shepherd Groups and Church School. Folks A-P: side dishes, Folks Q-Z: desserts. We are having ice cream!

Sunday, June 14: POLICE & COMMUNITY: CREATING JUSTICE TOGETHER – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Federated Church, Orleans. The public is invited to a forum with the purpose of strengthening positive police-community relations and addressing the hard questions brought on by recent tragic national events. The Rev. Karyn Carlo, UCC minister and Captain in the NYC Police Department will be the keynote speaker. Several police chiefs in the Nauset region will speak. Sponsored by the Nauset Interfaith Association and chaired by The Rev. Wesley Williams, The Rev. Sally Norris and Fr. Ken Campbell. See Fr. Ken for more information.

Thursday, June 18: THURSDAYS AT THREE – 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. – Parish Hall. MANAGING OUR ADULT CHILDREN WHILE THEY TRY TO MANAGE US: the challenge of maintaining good relationships with our children (and parents) as we age, while holding on to what’s important to us. Sara Fry and Sandy Marshall, facilitators.

Join the fun. Please sign up in the Parish Hall or the Reception Room. Paperback books may be left in the designated classroom in the lower Parish Hall. All other summer related items, including bikes, toys and games, beach things, sport equipment may be left inside the Craft House. Costume jewelry can be dropped off at the Parish Office. Clothing will not be accepted at the Fair. Drop off times for your donations are June 1, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and continue Mondays until the Fair. Questions? CHS ARTIST: The featured CHS artist for the month of May is Pia MacKenzie. It is always a treat for the heart and eyes when Pia’s new collages go on exhibit and are for sale. Don’t miss this creative, colorful and imaginative show. There are still a two months in 2015 to show your art. The sign up sheet is located by the gallery door. Questions? Comments? CHILDREN’S ACTIVITY BAGS: Are available at every entrance for loan to keep our children “busy” during the service. Please feel free to take advantage of them.

COFFEE HOUR HOSTS: Just a reminder; you can sign up for hosting coffee hour in the Parish Hall. We need new participants! Beverages are provided. You just need to bring something to go with them! Thank you, Michele Puzo

FREE SHOP: The shop is now accepting SPRING clothing. Donations can be dropped off any day the Parish Hall is open. If the shop is closed there is a container outside the door. GALLEY WEST GIFT SHOP: SUMMER HOURS – Starting June 14 – Sundays from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon; Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon. For these extended hours during the summer, we NEED volunteers. We have 96 opening that have to be staffed during the time slots of 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Please consider offering your help. Please call Susan Owens at 508-240-1788.

GREEN TEAM: Looking to the summer heat – are you thinking of ways to reduce your energy use? How about open windows or a fan instead of AC? Are you a waterer – how about barrels under your down spouts with screens of course, or rinsing your hands in cold water, washing in cold water in general. Any other ideas? We are all in this together.

Please participate and make this new version of the Parish Pictorial Directory a great resource for all of us. On the Sundays in May we will be asking you to sign up for a photo session. We will hold the photo sessions in June (9-12) and July (14-18). The sign up sheets will be available after each service during May.
