Tuesday, June 9: HIGH TEA WITH JAN SWAFFORD – Please come for a discussion and book signing at Church of the Holy Spirit from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Jan Swafford is a world renowned composer, teacher and author of Beethoven: Anguish and Triumph. Tickets are $25. Enjoy savories, sweets and lots of door prizes! Friday, June 12: WALKING THE LABYRINTH – 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall. The Labyrinth is a spiritual walking exercise that quiets the mind, opens the heart and centers the body to encourage meditation. Margaret Rappaport facilitates a walk on our indoor canvas Chartres-style Labyrinth. The 10 a.m. walk is candle-lit and is accompanied by music courtesy of Darlene Hagon. The labyrinth is available for individual walks from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Parish Hall.

Sunday, June 14: POLICE & COMMUNITY: CREATING JUSTICE TOGETHER – 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Federated Church, Orleans. The public is invited to a forum with the purpose of strengthening positive police-community relations and addressing the hard questions brought on by recent tragic national events. The Rev. Karyn Carlo, UCC minister and Captain in the NYC Police Department will be the keynote speaker. Several police chiefs in the Nauset region will speak. Tuesday, June 16: The Massachusetts Organizations for Addiction Recovery (MOAR) is hosting three community forums on addiction recovery on Cape Cod on June 2, June 15 and June 16. People in recovery, families, friends, policymakers, coalitions and community members are invited to attend. The third talk (Tuesday June 16 from 5:00 to 7:30 pm) will be held at CHS. Sunday, June 21: 9:00 am Bishop Alan Gates to Visit CHS. There is no 8 am or 10 am service, but rather a combined 9 am service. This is the Bishop’s first visit to Church of the Holy Spirit after being consecrated Sept. 13, 2014. Please come and welcome him to our parish!

SUMMER CHOIR: Our tradition at CHS is to provide a Summer Choir for the 10 a.m. service each week (June 28 – Sept. 6). Singers – all voice ranges – are invited to come any Sunday for a rehearsal in the Church at 9 a.m. prior to the 10 a.m. service. Since this is the only weekly rehearsal available during the Summer, we ask those who wish to participate on Sundays to be present for this important rehearsal at 9 a.m. Vestments are not worn.
