Saturday, September 12: TOAST & JAM – Back by popular demand, CHS will be holding a Toast and Jam concert on September 12. The concert starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15.
No reservations are taken. Please bring your own food and drink.
Sunday, September 13: Church School Registration with a light breakfast. Music and first
classes (preschool through 8th grade) as we begin our 2015—2016 Church School year!
Monday, September 14: St. Martha & Kimball Guilds resume meeting Monday, September 14 at 10 a.m. in the Fireplace Room. All welcome to join us; bring a sandwich for lunch and we will provide the tea and good cheer.
Wednesday, September 16: MEN’S LUNCH—The Men’s Lunch Group will resume meeting on every third Wednesday of the month from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Fireplace Room September through June. Bring your sack lunch; coffee and snacks are donated.
Wednesday, September 16: THE REVELATIONS AND THEOLOGY OF A MEDIEVAL MYSTIC, JULIAN OF NORWICH—Beginning on Wednesday, September 16 and on three subsequent Wednesday evenings, Father Adam will lead us through a study series focused on Julian of Norwich’s Revelations of Divine Love. The four sessions in the Parish Hall will begin with a simple supper at 5:15 followed by a short introductory presentation and small group discussion. We will end by 6:45 p.m. Participants are urged to buy and read the specific translation Revelations of Divine Love, Julian of Norwich, Elizabeth Spearing, translator, Penguin Classics (1999), ISBN-13: 978-0140446739, before the sessions begin. Friday, September 18: GARDEN PARTY – 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. We’ll be doing maintenance, weeding and mulching. All are invited, no experience necessary! Coffee, Hole in One donut holes and cold drinks are provided. Meet us in the north parking lot behind the offices.
Sunday, September 20: ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL – Parish Hall, 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Adult Sunday School sessions resume. We’ll be taking on the Epistle of Paul to the Romans.
The format for our sessions will be similar to what we used for John’s Gospel. We read a short portion together, and then launch in, together, with our questions and insights, learning from one another. Please come!

RUMMAGE SALE: Wait! Don’t throw that out! The Rummage Sale will be held on Friday, October 16 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, October 17 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Donations accepted starting Tuesday October 13. Many helping hands will be necessary to make this year’s sale a success! Watch for the sign-up sheets which will be posted in the Reception Room.
CHS ARTIST: The featured CHS artist for the month of September is Natalie Tudor. Through her art, she has turned the chaos and hard times in life into beautiful pieces that are very colorful. The medium is acrylic on canvas and the mosaic bowl that is displayed on the window sill is made of glass. Natalie is a new member of CHS and a volunteer/Site Manager at Food For Kids. Questions? FREE SHOP: The shop is open Mondays 12 noon to 3 p.m. and Wednesdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Free Shop is gladly accepting FALL clothing! Donations can be dropped off any time the Parish Hall is open. GALLEY WEST GIFT SHOP: Thanks for all who volunteered to work in the Galley during the summer. We were delighted to welcome some new staff members and send out thanks and appreciation to all volunteers for your support enabling the shop to maintain an extended schedule. That’s a good thing! During September and October the shop will be open on Mon-days from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Barbara Hoffman
MUSIC NEWS: New members for all music groups are invited to join us. Adult Choir rehearsals are on Wednesdays 7 to 8:30 p.m. and resume on Wednesday, September 9, in the North Transept of the Church. Sunday warm-up rehearsal is at 9 a.m. in the church prior to the 10 a.m. Service. The Bell Choir rehearsals are in the Parish Hall on Monday afternoons beginning September 14, 1:30 to 3:00 pm. Although reading music is a great help, it is not a requirement to participate. If you have any questions, please call the church at 508-255-0433 ext. 13.

The Church of the Holy Spirit will be holding its 38th Annual Antiques Show and Sale on Friday, November 27, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and on Saturday, November 28, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Admission is $5. per person ($4. with a discount ad or ticket). There will be 25 quality dealers from around New England. All donations: Please make out your check to “The Church of the Holy Spirit” – and note that it is for the Antique Show.
