Sunday, October 4: ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL – Parish Hall, 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Adult Sunday School sessions continue. We’ll be taking on the Epistle of Paul to the Romans. The format for our sessions will be similar to what we used for John’s Gospel. We read a short portion together, and then launch in with our questions and insights, learning from one another. Please come!

Sunday, October 4: YOUTH BRUNCH – Please attend the Youth Brunch in the Parish Hall just after the Sunday 10 a.m. service! Join the fun!

Wednesday, October 7: THE REVELATIONS AND THEOLOGY OF A MEDIEVAL MYSTIC, JULIAN OF NORWICH – Father Adam will lead us through a study focused on Julian of Norwich’s Revelations of Divine Love. This final session, in the Parish Hall, will begin with a simple supper at 5:15 p.m. followed by a short introductory presentation and small group discussion. We will end by 6:45 p.m. Come join us!

Friday, October 9: Garden Party – 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. We’ll be doing maintenance, weeding and mulching. All are invited, no experience necessary! Come for the whole time or for only a few minutes. Bring your tools or use ours. Coffee, Hole in One donut holes and cold drinks are provided. Meet us in the north parking lot behind the offices.

Saturday, October 10: A benefit concert for LGBT and other youth who are homeless on the lower/outer Cape. St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at 7 p.m. Suggested donation: $10. Co-sponsored by CHS Justice and Peace Committee and 6 other area church J & P groups. For more information please see Fr. Ken Campbell at 413-478-5719.

Sunday, October 11: HEART & HOME CABARET CONCERT – Join the fun for the second annual Heart and Home Cabaret, a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod, hosted by David Roth. The concert begins at 4 p.m. followed by a homemade Spaghetti supper beginning at approximately 5:30 p.m. Gluten free/vegetarian options available. Tickets are $25. Seating is limited, please reserve your ticket by calling Bri at (508)-362-3559 x12. Tickets will be mailed.

Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17: RUMMAGE SALE: Our annual Rummage Sale will be held on Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Volunteers are needed to sort, price and display donated items for this important event. No previous experience necessary. Please join us, make new friends and enjoy the fun. 3rd Quarter Giving Statements: 3rd Quarter statements are available for pick up in the Reception Room. Any not taken by October 10-11 will be mailed. Please save postage and pick up your statement. Questions should be send in writing to holyspiritorleansdata-base@verizon.net or by mail to the Parish Office – Attention: Database Manager

Sunday, October 18: CHILDREN’S SABBATH CELEBRATION at 10 a.m. service. A Sunday to lift up children everywhere and celebrate Holy Spirit’s many gifts toward lifting children out of poverty on Cape Cod. A brown bag lunch, like the children receive all summer (Italian Subs) for EVERYONE following the service in the Parish Hall with a video (3 minutes) about F4K, created by HaiDi Pye.

Sunday, October 18: Eastham/Wellfleet-Shepherd Group will meet at the Hunan Gourmet (Underground Plaza) at 5:30 p.m. It is important that we have an accurate count for reserva-tions; please call Jody at 508-255-4058 or Dilys at 508-255-9647. Hope you can come!

Friday October 23: LABYRINTH WALK at 10 a.m. – Candlelit walk with selected music. Theme: Focusing Our Attention. The labyrinth is also available from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for individual walks.

CHS ARTIST: The art of our Church School children will be featured in the CHS gallery for the month of October – coordinating and corresponding with Children’s Sabbath on October 18. All art was created in response to a Godly Play story and/or scripture. Enjoy the creativity and imaginations of our children! Questions? FREE SHOP: The shop is open Mondays 12 noon to 3 p.m. and Wednesdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Free Shop is gladly accepting FALL clothing! Donations can be dropped off any time the Parish Hall is open. GALLEY WEST GIFT SHOP: During September and October the shop will be open on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Barbara Hoffman

Vestry Nominating Committee: This committee has been appointed by the vestry and convened by Fr. Adam. Their charge is to present a slate of nominees at the annual meeting in January for warden, clerk, treasurer, four 2-year members of the Vestry and our delegates and alternate to represent CHS at Convention and Deanery Assembly.
