candlePLEASE NOTE: Our Saturday service has moved to our winter hour: 4 p.m.

STEWARDSHIP:  The 2016 Pledge Packets were mailed in early October. If you did not receive one, please contact the parish office. Through November 1 we have received 89 pledges for a total of $180,176.  Pledges will be blessed at In-Gathering services the end of November. Requested 2016 Offering Envelope boxes will be distributed during the middle of December.

Sunday, November 8: ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL – STUDY OF EZEKIEL (Parish Hall, 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. led by Sharon Inger) Week 2’s topic: Judgment – Ezekiel begins in judgment, as God withdraws his glory from Israel. We will look at representative passages drawn from the first half of the book; Chapters 2 through 24. Please come and share our journey.

Wednesday, November 11: CONTINUING THE JOURNEY WITH JULIAN – Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall, led and facilitated by Father Adam. Beverages and light refreshment will be provided. Anyone interested is welcome. We hope this will prove to be a powerful time of spiritual growth. Friday, November 13: Walking the Labyrinth at 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall. The Labyrinth is a spiritual walking exercise that quiets the mind, opens the heart and centers the body to encourage meditation. Margaret Rappaport facilitates a walk on our indoor canvas Chartres-style Labyrinth.  Theme: The Labyrinth is a “Thin Place” – the 10 a.m. walk is candlelit and is accompanied by music courtesy of Darlene Hagon. The labyrinth is available for individual walks from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Sunday, November 15: SHEPHERD GROUPS – PLEASE NOTE – The Eastham/Wellfleet Group IS CHANGING ITS MEETING TIME TO 1 p.m. (Pats are playing at 4:30 p.m.) at the home of Martha
Armstrong and Tom Lenox, 48 Indian Way, Eastham. The Brewster/Dennis Group will be held at the home of Betsy and Ed Mason, 46 Shad Bush Circle, East Dennis at 5 p.m., 508-385-4093 or Elizabeth Merritt at 508-240-6998. The Orleans Group will meet at 5 p.m. at the home of Celia Calhoun, 306 Tonset Rd., East Orleans, 508-255-1981.

Wednesday, November 18: MEN’S LUNCH – Will meet in the Fireplace Room at 12:30 p.m. Bring your own bag lunch. Coffee and snacks are provided by our donations. All men in the parish are welcome. Thursday, November 26: Our Thanksgiving Day service will be at 10 a.m. Sunday, November 29: Advent Wreath Making for the whole parish after the 10 a.m. service, in the Parish Hall. If possible please bring “greens” to use and share. All other materials will be provided.

Church School: Advent candle sets will be available for sale if you already have your Advent wreath. Don’t miss this traditional event sponsored by the Church School!

Yes, Virginia, we are having our annual CHRISTMAS BAZAAR ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 21 – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. You will be receiving calls to make or bake your specialty for the Food Table and/or our famous Cookie Walk. If your culinary delight contains nuts or nut products, please label accordingly. We would also be grateful for donations to the Jewelry and Book Tables which can be left in the Reception Room with the volunteer at the desk or Monday mornings in the Fireplace Room. Your generous support has always contributed to the success of this fun holiday event, and we thank you.

CHS ARTIST: The Featured artists in the CHS gallery for the month of November is the dynamic and talented duo – JANET WINTER & NANCY RANSCHT. Janet Winter has been doing artwork all her life; happily progressing from Crayolas to oil, watercolors, ink, and colored pencils. Sunday, November 22: A special Nauset Interfaith Association celebration of Thanksgiving with Jewish, Christian, Muslim and native American participation at Eastham United Methodist Church on Sunday, November 22 at 4 PM. The offering will benefit Syrian refugees and homeless youth on the lower/outer cape.

Thursday, November 26, Thanksgiving Dinner: How would you like to have Thanksgiving dinner in pleasant company without having to shop, wash a single dish, or sit at the kids’ table?
