fireplaceSTEWARDSHIP:  The 2016 Pledge Packets were mailed in early October. If you did not receive one, please contact the parish office. We have received 125 pledges for a total of $261,088. Requested 2016 Offering Envelope boxes will be distributed during the middle of December.

Sunday, November 29: The Giving Tree – This year CHS will once again participate in the Giving Tree. The Giving Tree provides Christmas presents to greater community families as well as people in nursing home facilities who would otherwise go without. At the 10 a.m. service on November 29 members of the Youth Group along with children from the Sunday School will have a presentation about the Giving Tree to start us off on this joyous holiday tradition. Please take an ornament and return to the tree with the ornament firmly attached to the gift, on or before Sunday, December 13.

Sunday, November 29: Advent Wreath Making for the whole parish after the 10 a.m. service, in the Parish Hall. If possible please bring “greens” to use and share. All other materials will be provided.  Advent candle sets will be available for sale if you already have your Advent wreath. Don’t miss this traditional event sponsored by the Church School!

Thursday, December 3: WOMEN’S LUNCHEON – 12 Noon in the Parish Hall. Volunteers for the day are Barbara Mahoney, chips, Barbara Barrett, milk and lemons, Dot Cross, napkins. All women are welcome to come and enjoy the camaraderie, conversation and good food. Bring your own sandwich to share; beverages and dessert are provided. If you need a ride, call Peter Blank at 508-760-1516.

Sunday, December 6: FIRST FRUITS HOLIDAY SALE – In the Parish Hall. This year includes holiday arrangements, gift baskets and cookies. Proceeds will be donated to a local charity.

Sunday, December 6: YOUTH BRUNCH – Please attend the Youth Brunch in the Parish Hall just after the Sunday 10 a.m. service. Every first Sunday of the month the Youth Group hosts a
brunch. Come and join the fun!

Friday, December 11: LABYRINTH WALK – 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall – A candlelit walk with selected music. Theme: Focus on the inspirations of the Advent Season; “meeting God in your heart and bringing those experiences into your life”.

Friday, December 11: LABYRINTH WALK – 5:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall – A candlelit labyrinth walk and Holy Eucharist with music and special Advent offerings. Finger labyrinths will also be available.  Also, the labyrinth is available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for individual walks. Need a ride? CHRISTMAS BAZAAR: A huge thank you to all who in any way supported the Christmas Bazaar. It was a fun day and a wonderful way to begin the holiday season. THANK YOU!

Thursday, January 14: ALL PARISH POT LUCK SUPPER – 5:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Come join us for good food, great music and new friendships.

CHS ARTIST: The Featured artists in the CHS gallery for the month of November is the dynamic and talented duo – JANET WINTER & NANCY RANSCHT. Janet Winter has been doing artwork all her life; happily progressing from Crayolas to oil, watercolors, ink, and colored pencils. CHRISTMAS PAGEANT REHEARSAL – only one – Main characters – Saturday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m., Total cast at 5:30 p.m. GINGERBREAD HOUSE MAKING & PIZZA PARTY – Saturday, Dec. 5 – 6:15 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. SALE OF GINGERBREAD HOUSES – Sunday, Dec. 6. PAGEANT COSTUMES ASSIGNED – Sun-day, Dec. 13.

COFFEE HOUR HOSTS: HELP NEEDED – We need hosts for December 20 and 27. The beverages are provided. You just need to bring something of your choice to go with them! Be creative and lend a hand to this fun cause! Please call Michele Puzo at 508-432-1981.
FAIR TRADE UPDATE: We have a new product for sale in our Parish Hall Fair Trade display: organic hand soap made by a Palestinian women’s cooperative. This product is being distributed by the Episcopal Peace Fellowship.

FREE SHOP: The Free Shop is gladly accepting winter clothing and Christmas decorations! We are hoping that the Free Shop will be on your list for holiday shopping; stop by on Mondays 12 Noon to 3 p.m. and Wednesdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Your donations can be dropped off any time the Parish Hall is open. GALLEY WEST GIFT SHOP: The shop will be open on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon and on Sun-days from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Barbara Hoffman

GREENS NEEDED FOR FIRST FRUITS HOLIDAY SALE: Please prune your evergreen and pine trees and shrubs and drop them off at CHS Wednesday December 2 – Friday December 4. Leave your donations on the porch off the Parish Hall side door where the grand piano is stored. Questions call Dottie Walsh at 508-945-3969.

HELP WANTED: WEEKEND SEXTON.  As you may have heard, Bob Marks, weekend sexton, has left to take care of family matters in PA. He will be sorely missed – a hard act to follow. Don Bragdon has agreed to cover Sunday duties for us until we find a permanent replacement for Bob. BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP. If you know of anyone who wants a part time weekend job, 8 to 16 hours, providing custodial coverage and backup as needed, please contact Kate Paradise at 774-207-0435.
