STEWARDSHIP – Attention: If you did not pick up your 2016 OFFERTORY ENVELOPES BOXES they have been mailed to you. The 2015 end of the year statements are in the Reception Room. Please take your statement and save us postage.

Sunday, January 10: BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP: Our second meeting is this Sunday after the 10 a.m. service in the Fireplace Room. Brooke and Brian Skea will be convening. We will be discussing the Introduction and Chapter 1 of James Carroll’s Christ Actually, available on Amazon for anyone who does not yet have a copy.

Wednesday, January 13: AN HOUR OF ENCOURAGEMENT – 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the side Chapel in the Church. Emerging from our series on Julian of Norwich, a group has begun meeting each Wednesday. The content and format varies from week to week and may include readings from authors like Julian probing spiritual matters. All are welcome to join at any time and bring guests to participate in this intimate time together with the Lord.

Thursday, January 14, 2016: GETTING TO KNOW YOU – Parish Pot Luck Supper at 5:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Hosted by the Welcoming Paths Team: Sign up sheet in reception room. Pot Luck assignments: A – H, main course dish; I – M, side dish; N – P, salad; Q – Z, dessert. Music by our favorite DJ, Bernie Hutchens, playing all your favorites.

Friday, January 15: BOOK STUDY: Fr. Ken will be facilitating a study of Walter Brueggemann’s new book: Chosen? Reading The Bible Amid the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. Monday, January 18: A VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS – 8:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall. The Annual Martin Luther King Breakfast is fast approaching! Our featured speaker is Sean Gonsalves, for many years associate news editor of the Cape Cod Times and syndicated columnist. This year pre-registration is required. Call or email Fr. Wednesday, January 20: MEN’S LUNCH – Will meet at 12:30 p.m. in the Fireplace Room. Bring your own bag lunch. Coffee and snacks are provided by our donations. All men in the parish are welcome. Thursday, January 21: MANAGING OUR ADULT CHILDREN WHILE THEY TRY TO MANAGE US, PART 2 – 3 to 4:30 P.M., in the Parish Hall. Sandy Marshall facilitates an informative discussion group. Topics include: Maintaining good relationships with our children (and parents) as we age; talking with our children or parents about our needs and theirs and much more! Come join us: refreshments will be served at 2:45 p.m.

CHS ARTIST: The featured CHS artist for the month of January is Dianne Fromm. Dianne works with both oil and watercolor. Come and enjoy the show! FREE SHOP: The Free Shop is gladly accepting winter clothing. Stop by on Mondays 12 Noon to 3 p.m. and Wednesdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Your donations can be dropped off any time the Parish Hall is open. HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF CAPE COD: If you are interested in volunteering check their web-site (, scroll down to Volunteer Up, and/or ask Jody Mines, Gilbert Merritt, or Nat Goddard about the variety of opportunities.

WELCOMING VISITORS: If you are sitting near visitors at the services please extend them a greeting and, if you attend the 10 a.m. service, invite them over to the parish hall for coffee
hour and a visit to the newcomer table.

HELP WANTED: WEEKEND SEXTON.  As you may have heard, Bob Marks, weekend sexton, has left to take care of family matters in PA. He will be sorely missed – a hard act to follow. Don Bragdon has agreed to cover Sunday duties for us until we find a permanent replacement for Bob. BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP. If you know of any-one who wants a part time weekend job, 8 to 16 hours, providing custodial coverage and backup as needed, please contact Kate Paradise at 774-207-0435.
