cape snowBUDGET OPEN FORUM – FEBRUARY 14th AT 11:30 A.M. IN THE PARISH HALL: We will be conducting an open forum on the CHS budget. Please come with any and all questions you might have concerning our Parish Finances.

Sunday, February 7: CHILDREN’S INSTRUCTED EUCHARIST – After classes children will gather at the altar with The Reverend Gail Smith during the 10 a.m. service.

Sunday, February 7: YOUTH BRUNCH – Please attend the Youth Brunch in the Parish Hall just after the Sunday 10 a.m. service. Every first Sunday of the month the Youth Group hosts a brunch. Come February 7 and join the fun!

Sunday, February 7: BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP – We reconvene on Sunday, February 7 after the 10 a.m. service in the Fireplace Room. We will continue with Chapter 2.

Tuesday, February 9: SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE SUPPER for the whole parish – 5:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Colorful paper hats, Mardi Gras beads, pancakes and more, singing with and by the Church School choir and Father Charles……home & happy by 7:30 p.m.! This is an annual event sponsored by the Church School. Sign up to bring a dessert – sign up poster is on the Youth bulletin board in the Gathering Room.

Wednesday, February 10: ASH WEDNESDAY  Our Ash Wednesday services are 7:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Friday, February 12: WALKING THE LABYRINTH – 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall. The Labyrinth is a spiritual walking exercise that quiets the mind, opens the heart and centers the body to encourage meditation. Margaret Rappaport facilitates a walk on our indoor canvas Chartres-style Labyrinth. Theme: “True Perspective”. The 10 a.m. walk is candle-lit and is accompanied by music courtesy of Darlene Hagon. Meditative music by Impressionist composers Debussy, Ravel, Satie and Faure will be offered. The Labyrinth is available for individual walks from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Parish Hall.

FEBRUARY 12 – MARCH 18: FRIDAY LENTEN SERVICE AND SUPPER (Every Friday at 5:30 p.m.) Come join our Friday Lenten Service and Supper which incorporates a devotional in the church followed by soup & bread and a presentation in the Parish Hall.

The Men’s Study (each Monday at 1:15 p.m.) will NOT meet at all in February. NO MEETINGS on February 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29. They WILL meet again in March.

Wednesday, February 17: MEN’S LUNCH will meet the third Wednesday of the month at 12 NOON in the Fireplace Room. Bring your own bag lunch. Coffee and snacks are provided by our donations. All men in the parish are welcome. If you think of a friend who could come if a ride were provided, please invite him to come with you. Questions? Bruce Lederhouse at 508-240-2853.

CHS ARTIST: The featured art for February: PRAYER SHAWLS. Please check out the handsome display of shawls in the reception room during February. COFFEE HOUR HOSTS: HELP NEEDED – Please signup on the posted sheet in the Parish Hall. The beverages are provided. You just need to bring something of your choice to go with them! Be creative and lend a hand to this fun cause! Please call Michele Puzo at 508-432-1981.
DRIVERS NEEDED: Volunteers to drive parishioners to church services, activities and medical appointments are sorely needed. If you can help please call Pattie LaBranche at 508-255-3532 or Peter Blank at 508-760-1516.

FREE SHOP: The Free Shop is gladly accepting winter clothing. Stop by on Mondays: 12 Noon to 3 p.m. and Wednesdays: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Your donations can be dropped off any time the Parish Hall is open. GALLEY WEST GIFT SHOP: The shop will be open on Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Please stop by and buy! Barbara Hoffman

GROCERY CARDS: After church at the coffee hour we sell Grocery Cards which may be used at Stop and Shop, Shaw’s, Friend’s and Phoenix Fruit. The buyer receives full value of the card and the store donates 5% to the Homeless Prevention Council. The need is great here on the Lower Cape and by purchasing the grocery cards you will be helping those less fortunate.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF CAPE COD: If you are interested in volunteering check their web-site (, scroll down to Volunteer Up, and/or ask Jody Mines, Gilbert Merritt, or Nat Goddard about the variety of opportunities available.

NOAH – NO OTHER AFFORDABLE HOUSING: We are sending meals to NOAH every 4th Friday of the month. We would love to have more people making casseroles and baking cookies. Interested? Call Georgia Schneider at 508-255-2368.

With Deep Sympathy The Parish wishes to extend its sympathy to the family and friends of
Elisabeth Meyer who died recently.  Her funeral is February 13, 2016 at 1:00 pm at The Church of the Holy Spirit with a reception following in the Parish Hall.
