Tuesday, August 30: RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE – From 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. – Red Cross Blood Drive will be held here at Church of the Holy Spirit, in the Parish Hall.
Friday, September 9: Please join us for our Labyrinth walk at 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall. Theme: True Freedom. Meditative music by Jazz musicians. At 5:30 p.m. we will celebrate the Eucharist with an additional walk. Meditative piano music provided by Brian Longridge. Both walks are facilitated by The Rev. Anne Koehler, Director of Music, Darlene Hagon, and Dr. Margaret Rappaport.
Saturday, September 10: SPECIAL EVENT: The first Labyrinth Pilgrimage Walk at three labyrinth sites will take place at 10 a.m. in the Parish Hall (Bonsai plants, candlelight and music). Our walk will be followed by another in the outdoor labyrinth at the Federated Church of Orleans at 12 Noon (Meditative offerings). The third walk will occur at the outdoor labyrinth in Baxter Park in Chatham at 2 p.m. (Wind chimes and rhythm sticks). Additional information coming in our brochure.
Monday, September 12: The St. Martha and Kimball Guilds will reconvene at 10 a.m. in the Fireplace Room and Kimball House. Bring a sandwich for lunch at noon and we will provide the tea and good cheer.
Thursday, September 22: Save the Date! Welcoming Paths Committee has planned a wonderful ALL PARISH POT LUCK on Thursday, September 22 in the Parish Hall from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. We will have TOAST AND JAM, our favorite musical group, provide a show for you. CHURCH SCHOOL NEWS: SUMMER SUNDAY VEGGIE TALE THEATER – Now through September 4 – Under the Parish Hall & across from the Nursery from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. – then children join their families in church. CHS ARTIST: The featured CHS artist for the month of August is Cheryl Kyle. Cheryl’s show includes Tinga Tinga paintings from Tanzania and Maasai beaded jewelry. All proceeds from the sales are donated to Endupoto Primary School, a Maasai school with over 404 students in Tanzania. GALLEY WEST GIFT SHOP: Thanks to our faithful volunteers and to our customers who support the Galley West gift Shop. As of September 6, the shop will be open Mondays from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon and Sunday’s from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon.
PET FOOD DRIVE: The Creation Care Team at St. Mary’s in Barnstable, with CCDART (Cape Cod Disaster Animal Response Team), is holding a pet food drive here from Sunday, August 21 to Sunday, August 28 (look for the basket in the reception room). Please donate dry and/or canned dog and cat food to distribute to help elderly and low-income members of our community feed their pets. Our Team is also working to educate local Episcopal churches about issues of animal welfare, of treating God’s creatures with the same love that God has for them.
ST. MARTHA’S WOMEN’S GUILD: Is in need of metal coffee cans with tops. Please drop them off at the office between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
