Sunday, September 4 & September 11: ADULT EDUCATION – In the Fireplace Room from 9 to 9:45 am. We will be discussing Anglican Spirituality: The History of Anglicanism (with a DVD).
Sunday, September 4: YOUTH BRUNCH – Every first Sunday of the month the Youth Group hosts a brunch, in the Parish Hall, just after the Sunday 10 am service. Come and join the fun!
Sunday, September 4: CHS wishes to extend its sympathy to the family and friends of Nancy Barker, who died recently. Her committal will be on Sunday, September 4 at 12 Noon in the Orleans Cemetery. Mother Liza will be officiating.
Thursday, September 8: LADIES’ LUNCHEON – In the Parish Hall at 12 Noon. Hostesses: Joan Proctor, Pat Carroll, and Dot Cross. Dessert will be provided by Dilys Smith. Please bring a sandwich to share. Chips and paper supplies are provided.
Friday, September 9: Please join us for our LABYRINTH WALK at 10 am in the Parish Hall. Theme: True Freedom. Meditative music by Jazz musicians. At 5:30 pm, we will celebrate the Eucharist with an additional walk. Meditative piano music; Brian Longridge. Walks are facilitated by The Rev. Anne Koehler, Director of Music Darlene Hagon and Dr. Margaret Rappaport.
Saturday, September 10: SPECIAL EVENT: The first Labyrinth Pilgrimage Walk at three labyrinth sites will take place at 10 am in the Parish Hall (Bonsai plants/candlelight/music). Our walk will be followed by another in the outdoor labyrinth at the Federated Church of Orleans at 12 Noon (Wind chimes/rhythm sticks). The third walk will occur at the outdoor labyrinth in Baxter Park in Chatham at 2 pm (Meditative offerings). Additional information in our brochure.
Monday, September 12: The ST. MARTHA AND KIMBALL GUILDS will resume at 10 am in the Fireplace Room and Kimball House. Bring a sandwich for lunch at noon and we will provide the tea and good cheer.
Wednesday, September 21: MEN’S LUNCH – Bring your bag lunch and join the fellowship in the Fireplace Room at 12 Noon.
Thursday, September 22: Save the Date! Welcoming Paths Committee has planned a wonderful ALL PARISH POT LUCK in the Parish Hall from 5:30 pm to 8 pm. We will have TOAST AND JAM, our favorite musical group, provide a show for you. More information will follow!

NOMINATING COMMITTEE: The Vestry has formed the Nominating Committee and given it its charge in preparation for the Church of the Holy Spirit’s next Annual Meeting, January 2017. Appointed to the Committee were Joan Kirkby, Sandy Marshall, Gilbert Merritt and Anne Moronta. Also appointed to the Committee was outgoing Vestry Member, Warden Rick Paris.
At the Annual Meeting, the parish will elect one Warden for a two year term, a Treasurer and a Clerk, each for a one year term, and four Vestry-at-large members, each for a two year term. Anyone interested in making suggestions for the open 2017 positions is encouraged to contact a Nominating Committee member.
MUSIC NEWS: The Bell Choir rehearsals are in the Parish Hall on Monday afternoon beginning September 12, from 1:30 to 3 pm. Although reading music is a great help, it is not a requirement to participate. Willingness to learn and interest are. During the month of September the Adult Choir will continue our Summer Schedule of Sunday rehearsals at 9 am in the church prior to the 10 am service. Adult Choir rehearsals will resume on Wednesdays from 7-8:30 pm beginning Wednesday October 5 in the North Transept of the Church. New members for all music groups are invited to join us!
