Sunday, December 4: BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP – In the Fireplace Room after the 10 am service.  We are finishing the last chapters of Falling Upward by Richard Rohr. Brian & Brooke Skea.

Sunday, December 4: FIRST FRUITS CHRISTMAS SALE – Come to the First Fruits Christmas Sale in the Parish Hall from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm for freshly made holiday arrangements and homemade cookies. Interested in helping us? Contact Dottie Walsh at 508-945-3969.

Sunday, December 4: YOUTH BRUNCH after the 10 am service – Support our Youth and have a great breakfast! Yum!

Friday, December 9: ADVENT LABYRINTH WALKS – 10 am and 5:30 pm with Eucharist in the Parish Hall. The theme of the morning walk is True Hope. It features a focus for meditation offered by Dr. Margaret M. Rappaport, Veriditas-certified Labyrinth Facilitator. Rev. Anne Koehler presents theological reflection before the walk. Darlene T. Hagon, Director of Music selects music to enhance the experience of the walk, and arrays the labyrinth for Advent. Rev. Anne celebrates an intimate Eucharist in the evening. Walking the labyrinth is incorporated into the service. Meditation, accompanied by music selected by Darlene, is a highlight of the Advent season at Church of the Holy Spirit in December every year. Join us for these guided
walks or walk individually between 12 pm – 2 pm. All are welcome!

Sunday, December 11: A Rectory Open House will be held right after the 10 am service. Lori and Adam+ would love to show off the wonderful work done in the Rectory renovation this past summer. Please take advantage to enjoy the results of the dedicated efforts of so many in this important parish project. We’ll have a “shuttle” available for those who’d find the trek up the path not practical.

SHEPHERD GROUPS: Eastham/Wellfleet Shepherd Group will meet December 18 at 5 pm at the home of Fay & Ike Cole, 180 Hay Road, 508-255-9542. Brewster/Dennis and Orleans Shepherd Groups will not meet in December. Have a wonderful holiday. See you in January!

CHRISTMAS FLOWER ENVELOPES are in the pews. Please print clearly the names of those you wish to have remembered, and also your Pledge number. Enclose your donation, made payable to The Church of the Holy Spirit. Place in the offering plate or drop off at the office. Deadline: Monday, December 12. Thank you.

HELP WANTED:  CHS is looking for a part time Saturday and Sunday Custodian. This position will average approximately 8-10 hours. Interested? Please contact Sandy Marshall at 508-255-9971.

CHS ARTIST: During the month of December, we will display crèche collections in the Reception Room. Do you have a special nativity set that you are willing to share in this show? Calling ALL CHS artists, painters, quilters, sculptors, photographers, writers, poets, illustrators, carpenters, potters – sign up to show your work in 2017 – for one month – show/exhibit/sell! FREE SHOP: The Free Shop is gladly and gratefully accepting WINTER clothing & CHRISTMAS decorations. Open on Mondays: 12 Noon to 3 pm and Wednesdays: 10 am to 1 pm. Your donations can be dropped off any time the Parish Hall is open. If the shop is closed there is a container outside the Free Shop door at the foot of the elevator. Questions? FAIR TRADE: PLEASE NOTE! Until a wall deposit box can be installed, please pay for Fair Trade items by check (made out to Fr. Ken) and leave in the money box. If you want to pay by cash please leave cash in the Justice & Peace mailbox in the Church Office or give the cash directly to Fr. Ken. Thank you!

GALLEY WEST GIFT SHOP: The shop is open Mondays from 10 am to 12 Noon and Sundays from 11 am to 12 Noon.

GROCERY CARDS: After church at the coffee hour we sell Grocery Cards which may be used at Stop and Shop, Shaw’s, Friend’s and Phoenix Fruit. The buyer receives full value of the card and the store donates 5% to the Homeless Prevention Council. The need is great here on the Lower Cape and by purchasing the grocery cards you will be helping those less fortunate.

WELCOMING PATHS COMMITTEE: The Welcoming Paths Committee is asking parishioners to notice new people at a service, invite them to coffee hour, and to invite people who have recently joined our congregation to join a committee and a Shepherd Group.
