labyrinth_4The PARISH ANNUAL MEETING will be held on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2017 AT 11:30 am IN THE PARISH HALL – Save the Date!

Sunday, January 29: BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP – After the 10 am service in the Fireplace Room. We will be reading up to Chapter 14 (p 76) of Proof of Heaven by Eben Alexander. Brian and Brooke Skea

Thursday, February 2: LADIES LUNCHEON – At 12 Noon in the Parish Hall. Our Ladies Luncheon is held on the first Thursday of every month and is early again this month. Just bring a sandwich to share and come join us! Drinks are provided. This month we decided to support the Baby Center. So please bring along some diapers or other useful baby item. Our committee for February is as follows: Diana Crighton – dessert, Ginny Clarendon – chips, Sue Stevens – lemon and 1/2 & 1/2, Pat Carroll – paper goods, and Fay Cole – table decorations.

Sunday, February 5: CHURCH SCHOOL – Children’s instructed Eucharist. Please attend class first. After the Peace, we will enter the Church and gather at the main altar.

Sunday, February 5: YOUTH BRUNCH – Please attend the Youth Brunch in the Parish Hall just after the Sunday 10 am service. This brunch will be serving Eggs Benedict – DELICIOUS! The Youth Group is participating in a Food Drive to help a local Food Pantry. Bring a nonperishable food or canned good item to donate to this wonderful cause and you will receive $1.00 of your brunch! Also, due to the cancelation of our Epiphany Trope service, the Youth Group will be collecting all gifts to the Christ Child. Bring your UNWRAPPED toy and they will be given to children in need in December 2017 at the Lower Cape Outreach Gift Center.

Wednesday, February 15: MEN’S LUNCHEON – At 12 Noon in the Fireplace Room. Our Men’s Lunch will meet as usual on the 3rd Wednesday. Questions? Call Bruce Lederhouse at 508-240 -2853. Rides can be arranged. Bring your own sandwich and cold drink; coffee and snacks are provided by our donations.

Friday, February 10: LABYRINTH WALK – At 10 am in the Parish Hall. Our guided labyrinth walks on the second Friday of every month at 10 am. continues in February with the meditation theme “Consciousness.” Dr. Margaret Rappaport, certified labyrinth facilitator, offers a brief instructive introduction to the walk. Darlene T. Hagon, Director of Music presents Chants sung by Anonymous 4 to enhance the theme. Rev. Anne Koehler shares a theological reflection to connect participants to the deeper meaning of the walk experience. ALL ARE WELCOME!

ACOLYTES: Have you ever wanted to be an Acolyte? Now’s your chance, we need volunteers! Contact Mary Anne Bragdon at 508-896-3481.

Cape Cod Council of Churches: Did you notice the basket of diapers at the front entrance to the Parish Hall? These are destined for A Baby Center which helps low-income mothers of children up to age three. Won’t you help by picking up a pack of diapers or baby wipes when you shop and leave them in the basket?

CHS ARTIST: For the month of February the Prayer Shawl Ministry will be exhibiting their craft of shawls (blessed by clergy) in the Reception Room/Gallery. This ministry and exhibit is coordinated by Helen Richardson. She writes: There is always need for Prayer Shawls given to many in hospitals, nursing homes, to the bereaved and to new mothers. Both women and men are comforted by these gifts. It is best to use acrylic (machine washable) yarns. Directions call for 550 yards. Please let me know if instructions are needed – 508 255 0065. A few months are still open. Sign up to show your work in 2017 for one month. The sign up sheet is located in the Gallery/Reception Room by the door. FAIR TRADE: PLEASE NOTE! For improved security, please pay for Fair Trade items by check (made out to Fr. Ken Campbell) and leave in the money box. If you want to pay by cash please leave cash in the Justice & Peace mailbox in the Church Office or give the cash directly to Fr. Ken. Thank you!

FREE SHOP: The Free Shop is gladly and gratefully accepting WINTER clothing. Open on Mondays: 12 Noon to 3 pm and Wednesdays: 10 am to 1 pm. Your donations can be dropped off any time the Parish Hall is open. If the shop is closed, there is a container outside the Free Shop door at the foot of the elevator. Questions? GALLEY WEST GIFT SHOP: We are open on Sundays from 11 am to 12 Noon.

GROCERY CARDS: After church at the coffee hour we sell Grocery Cards, which may be used at Stop and Shop, Shaw’s, Friend’s, and Phoenix Fruit. The buyer receives full value of the card and the store donates 5% to the Homeless Prevention Council. The need is great here on the Lower Cape and by purchasing the grocery cards you will be helping those less fortunate.

HEALTH MINISTRIES COMMITTEE: Our new “Health Ministry Survey” was included as a separate insert in the January Together. If you have not already completed it, please take the time to complete the survey and place it in the “Survey Boxes” at each entrance or mail it back to the church to the Attention: Health Ministries. Additional surveys are available in the Parish Office.
