Sunday February 19: SHEPHERD GROUPS – Brewster/Dennis Shepherd Group will meet at the home of Nancy Ludewig, 1510 Long Pond Road, Brewster, MA. Any questions should be directed to Elizabeth Merri at 508- 240-6998. Orleans Shepherd Group will meet at 5:30 pm at Bill and Judy Gardiner’s, 35 Payson Lane, East Orleans. Tuesday February 28: Save the Date – SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE SUPPER at 5 pm in the Parish Hall. An annual event sponsored by the Church School with great help from the Youth Group. Come one – come all – for food, fun, friendship & creativity. Arrive 5:30 pm in the Parish Hall – home by 7 to 7:30 pm. Dessert (brownies, cookies, etc) sign up sheet is posted on the bulletin board in the Gathering Room.

Wednesday, March 1: ASH WEDNESDAY – Our Ash Wednesday services are 7:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

PARISH SPACE USAGE: We are happy to announce that Arline Consiglio has volunteered to be our “go-to person” for all Parish Space Usage and keeping our online calendar up to date! If you have any questions with Space Usage or the calendar please call the office and we will put you in touch with Arline. This is a huge task in the office and we are much indebted to Arline!

HEALTH MINISTRIES COMMITTEE: Thanks to all who took the  me to participate in the Health Needs Survey. Results are being tabulated and will be discussed at this month’s meeting. We look forward to serving CHS with positive health and spiritual endeavors. We also welcome four new members to the committee and 15 new ‘one-time’ volunteers!! We are off to a great start!


ACOLYTES: Have you ever wanted to be an Acolyte? Now’s your chance, we need volunteers! Contact Mary Anne Bragdon at 508-896-3481.

Cape Cod Council of Churches: Did you notice the basket of diapers at the front entrance to the Parish Hall? These are designed for A Baby Center which helps low-income mothers of children up to age three. Won’t you help by picking up a pack of diapers or baby wipes when you shop and leave them in the basket?

CHS ARTIST: For the month of February the Prayer Shawl Ministry will be exhibiting their craft of shawls (blessed by clergy) in the Reception Room/Gallery. This ministry and exhibit is coordinated by Helen Richardson. She writes: There is always need for Prayer Shawls given to many in hospitals, nursing homes, to the bereaved and to new mothers. Both women and men are comforted by these gifts. It is best to use acrylic (machine washable) yarns. Directions call for 550 yards. Please let me know if instructions are needed – 508 255 0065. A few months are still open. Sign up to show your work in 2017 for one month. The sign up sheet is located in the Gallery/Reception Room by the door. FREE SHOP: The Free Shop is gladly and gratefully accepting WINTER clothing. Open on Mondays: 12 Noon to 3 pm and Wednesdays: 10 am to 1 pm. Your donations can be dropped o any me the Parish Hall is open. If the shop is closed there is a container outside the Free Shop door at the foot of the elevator. Questions? GALLEY WEST GIFT SHOP: We are open on Sundays from 11 am to 12 Noon.

GROCERY CARDS: After church at the coffee hour we sell Grocery Cards which may be used at Stop and Shop, Shaw’s, Friend’s, and Phoenix Fruit. The buyer receives full value of the card and the store donates 5% to the Homeless Prevention Council. The need is great here on the Lower Cape and by purchasing the grocery cards you will be helping those less fortunate.

Ladies Luncheon – THANK YOU: The ladies at the January Ladies Luncheon suggested bringing in donations for the Baby Center in Hyannis at our February meeting. The idea was a complete success. The huge baby carrier for donations that can be found in the entryway to the Parish Hall was brimming over with all-things-baby at the end of our meeting. Thanks to all who contributed to this gift from the heart. Hope you had a Happy Valentines Day.
