Sunday, March 12: BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP – Our meeting this Sunday, March 12 will be back in the Fireplace Room, after the 10 am service. We will be reading Walter Brueggemann’s Devotions for Lent, A Way Other Than Our Own, WJK Press, 2017, available in paperback from Amazon or your local bookseller. Fridays, March 17, 24, 31, and April 7: We will offer STATIONS OF THE CROSS at 5:30 pm in the church. This will be followed by soup and bread suppers with a four-part presentation and discussion, led by Father Adam, titled, “Reading Scripture with the Mind in the Heart.” Sign up sheets for the Soup (one vegetarian)/ Bread suppers are posted in the Reception Room.

NEW FLOWER GUILD BEING FORMED: Starting the Sunday after Easter (April 23), a new Flower Guild will begin to arrange the main and side altar flower arrangements for weekend services. We invite all who have an interest in doing “easy” arrangements to join us. We hope to have enough volunteers to share the responsibilities and we will train those who are interested. If you want to join the fun, please contact Marty Williams at 508-255-8730. She will be holding a meeting on Monday, March 20 at 11 am at her home at 152 Monument Road.
THE WELCOMING PATHS COMMITTEE – SAVE THE DATES – Save the Dates for two fun events, both held at Coffee Hour a er the 10 am service. April 23rd: We are planning a “HOLY SCAVENGER HUNT.” We will pass out a list of locations to find in the church campus. As each parishioner finds the location, they will pick up a colored square of paper. The first person who comes back with all the squares will get a prize. This is a great way to find locations that are not so well known.
May 21st: Come to an Ice Cream Social in the Memorial Garden (weather permitting) to “show-off” the wonderful garden and new hardscape including a new bench and fantastic fountain. We will have ice cream, cookies and coffee.
TIME TO FILL THE EGGS – Empty plastic eggs can be picked up by the replace in the CHS Gallery/Reception Room. Eggs can be filled with WRAPPED candies (please, NO peanuts or peanut butter), small trinkets and returned to the same place. Thank you for making this annual & traditional Easter Egg Hunt so wonderful for our CHS children & visitors!

CHS ARTIST: BOOKS FOR LENTEN STUDY – Lent is the season for prayer, introspection, and discovery. It is also the time to study what it means to be a Christian and to walk the walk with Jesus during his final 40 days. Please stop by the Gallery in our Reception Room and select one of the books we have on display from our own parish library. Take it home to read. Just make sure you “sign it out” using the tracking card in the back cover of each book and place that card in the box in the bay window. And… Don’t forget to return your selection once you have completed reading it. We are also featuring Stations of the Cross quilt appliques by The Rev. Gail Smith. Stop by to view these beautiful quilt pieces, she is certainly very talented! Sign up to show your work in 2017 for one month. The sign up sheet is located in the Gallery/Reception Room by the door. Cape Cod Council of Churches: Did you notice the basket of diapers at the front entrance to the Parish Hall? These are designed for A Baby Center, which helps low-income mothers of children up to age three. Won’t you help by picking up a pack of diapers or baby wipes when you shop and leave them in the basket?
CHURCH SCHOOL NEWS: The Church School has the Ministry bulletin board in the Parish Hall for the month of March – displaying photographs from the Christmas Pageant, All Saint’s Day, Food for Kids Thank You Lunch for the Parish and Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper. Also on display are thank you notes from numerous families who received gifts from The Giving Tree in December 2016……Come & See!
