Sunday, February 4: CHURCH SCHOOL NEWS – TODAY: Youth Sunday: Children’s Instructed Eucharist. After the peace, Church School children gather at the main altar for instruction. Please join us for the Youth Group Brunch in the Parish Hall after the 10 am service. Sunday, February 11: CHS Annual Meeting – there will be a Valentine making table in the Parish Hall during the Annual Meeting for all children whose families are attending the meeting. Tuesday, February 13: SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE SUPPER – 5:30 pm in the Parish Hall. Come one – come all – come & see this annual event sponsored by the Church School with the help and support of the Youth Group! Arrive at 5:30 for hat making, beads, good food, games and magic tricks! Bring a dessert if you can. Home by 7:30 – full & happy!

Friday, February 9: Labyrinth Walk – 10 a.m. Parish Hall – Light is the theme for our guided walk this month. Darlene T. Hagon will focus on awakening hope and deepening faith as symbolized by the quiet, increasing light of this time of year. The Rev. Anne Koehler will open and close the walk with prayers selected to augment the theme. Dr. Margaret Rappaport will pace our entrance into the labyrinth and hold the sacred space as we walk. All are welcome to join us for the walk or to pray and meditate while seated in our softly lit Parish Hall.

Sunday, February 18: SHEPHERD GROUPS – The Brewster/Dennis Group will meet on February 18 at the home of Jack and Karen Gentile, 98 Moss Lane, Brewster, MA at 5 pm. Questions? Altar Flowers: In the gallery/reception room you will find a NEW SIGN UP SHEET where you can choose which Sunday(s) in 2018 you would like to donate flowers for the altars of Church of the Holy Spirit. Please fill out an Altar Flowers request card, available at all the church entrance and by the chart. You may choose to do this to remember someone or perhaps to celebrate a special anniversary or birthday. For a donation of fifty dollars the Flower Guild will purchase and arrange flowers and the name(s) of the loved ones being honored will be noted in the service bulletins of the weekend services of the chosen date.
CHS Artist: This month Helen Richardson and Sharyn Laughton are sharing/filling the gallery with LOVE! Helen is director of the Prayer Shawl Ministry. The work of Helen and many other knitters will be on display. Take a shawl off of the display board and give to a friend who is at home, a hospital, or a nursing home and who needs our love. Please remember to sign out your chosen prayer shawl with the office. Sharyn Laughton will also be displaying and selling felt hearts and cards from her lovely Art Offerings…more love to share! FREE SHOP: The shop is gladly and gratefully accepting winter clothing and paper shopping bags. We are open Monday: 12 Noon to 3 pm and Wednesday: 10 am to 1 pm. HEALTH MINISTRIES COMMITTEE: February is Heart Health Month. Stop by the Health Ministries tables this month to pick up material that answer questions and includes information on heart healthy living, warning signs, support groups and even a heart healthy recipe or two! PASTORAL CARE: Please help us to provide pastoral care by sending an email to: email@example.com about anyone in the parish who has gone to a hospital or nursing home, or who has suffered any major loss or life changing circumstance. If YOU are taken to the hospital please inform the staff there, that you want your home parish to be informed. The chaplain will call our office to let us know. Volunteers needed to visit people once a month. Please let me know, by this email or my personal one below. If you are already visiting someone; please let me know who they are and how they’re doing. Prayer Shawls: Welcomed, needed at so many stressful times. And such good projects during these wintery, often shut-in days. WORLD DAY OF PRAYER: Friday, March 2 at 1 pm at the CHURCH OF THE TRANSFIGURATION, ROCK HARBOR, ORLEANS. This is a prayer service for all to attend, but the focus is on women’s leadership.
