Sunday, May 13:  ADULT EDUCATION – We begin a journey through Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians, one of the earliest books of the New Testament to be written.  It’s inspiring, deeply nourishing and occasionally controversial too. It will make for very lively discussion!  We meet in the Parish Hall starting at 9 am and end at  9:45 am. Adam+

Wednesday, May 16 (and following weeks):  Pray and Ponder –  In the Parish Hall at 5:30 pm. The heart  of our session will be open discussion of faith issues, in particular, questions that participants will bring to the group to explore together. The focus in this series will be practical and experiential. Our sessions will conclude at 6:30 pm. Adam+

Sunday, May 20:  PENTECOST, The Church of the Holy Spirit’s 85th Birthday. We’re welcoming our new Minister of Music, Joan Marie Kirchner. It’s also Youth Recognition Sunday! Please join us after the 10 am service for a parish Cook-Out and Birthday Party. Please bring a side dish to share. The Church School and Shepherd Groups will provide all “the Grills”. Please come; share the joy. And remember that it’s our tradition to wear RED on Pentecost!

CHS Artist:  The featured CHS artist for the month of May is F4Ks. This year we will be serving free meals to 400-500 children in 15 community programs on the Lower/Outer Cape from June 25 – August 24.  We make and distribute those lunches with a very small paid staff and the generous efforts of volunteers like you.  Back this year by popular demand is the ability to sign up online. It was so successful last year that we are signing everyone up online from the start this summer. Saturday, May 12:  Youth Outreach & Hospitality, will host a BENEFIT CONCERT at 7 pm in the Parish Hall. Singer/songwriter Jodi Heights will be here from Boston and Celtic Roots, a band of young musicians from the Nauset and Monomoy schools will perform a CONCERT TO BENEFIT HOMELESS AND AT-RISK YOUTH on the Lower and Outer Cape. FREE SHOP:  The shop is gratefully accepting spring clothing. We are open Monday: 12 Noon to 3 pm and Wednesday: 10 am to 1 pm. HEALTH MINISTRIES COMMITTEE:  May is Eye Health Awareness Month.  We will offer brief topics on Glaucoma, Cataracts and Macular Degeneration.  We will have some simple eye tests for home use as well as information on surgeries offered. You can pick up information in the Parish hall after the 10 am service and speak to one of our ministry members directly. Ann Pike-Paris, Coordinator

Nauset Interfaith Association:  The Refugee Support Team of Nauset Interfaith Association is collecting gift cards during March to support refugee families and individuals in Worcester and on Cape Cod. Cards requested: Star Market, Stop & Shop, Walmart, Visa. These can be given to Ken+ or left in the Justice & Peace mailbox in the office.  Thank you!

The Refugee Support Team is sponsoring a 2nd annual “Weekend on Cape Cod” for refugee families and individuals living in Massachusetts on July 13-15 and August 10-12. REQUEST FROM SUE SASSO –  Would you like to learn how to make pottery?  I need help for about 8 hours a week thru June (flexible time based on your schedule) doing some easy tasks that will help me prepare for a 1 week Pottery  Show & Sale in July.  In exchange for your time; will give pottery lessons later this summer and you will get to create fun and functional items to keep and learn a new craft. Interested? Teens age 15+ welcome too… we can work out schedule and transportation.

Parking Lot Safety:  We’ve noticed that we have more people ignoring our “Exit Only” and “Entrance Only” signs, and driving in the exit. This is a real concern, and could result in a serious accident. So let’s look out for one another and “keep with the flow”!
