April 20:  Holy Saturday, 7 pm – Easter Vigil

April 21:  Easter Sunday, 8 & 10 am – Easter Egg Hunt after 10 am Service

TODAY—Sunday, March 31: Choral Evensong, at 5 pm. The CHS Choir, under the leadership of our Music Minister, Joan Kirchner will offer a special Evensong featuring Anglican choral classics of the Sixteenth and Seventeenth Centuries. This classic, “Rite I” service will also feature Adam+ performing a short re-enactment of a portion of one of the sermons of the great English poet and preacher, John Donne.

Sunday, March 31:  ADULT EDUCATION –  in the Fireplace Room, 9 am.  We continue working our way through Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians.  This is a lively, interactive Bible study, led by Adam+.  No homework required!  Just come, in spirit, mind, and heart.

Sunday, March 31: The Book Discussion Group – Following the 10 am service in the Fireplace Room. We will continue reading The Powers That Be by Walter Wink, reading chapters 6 and 7. Brian and Brooke Skea

Thursday, April 4:  Ladies Luncheon – 12 Noon in the Parish Hall. Bring a sandwich to share. The committee for our April 4 meeting is: Ginny Lucil, chips; Betsy Mason, 1/2 &1/2 and lemon; Georgia Schneider, juice; Susan Owens, paper goods; Joan Proctor, Table Decoration.

Fridays, April 5 & 12:  Upcoming Labyrinth Lenten WalksOur small labyrinth will be set up in the Parish Hall for people to drop by and walk from 10 am to 12 Noon. There will be a guided walk using our larger labyrinth on Good Friday, April 19 at 3 pm in the Parish Hall.

Sunday, April 7:  CHURCH SCHOOL NEWS:  During the 10 am service the children will present the Iona Community’s “He was Going on a Journey” under the direction of Ruth Campbell.

Friday, April 12:  April Garden Party:  Weather date of Friday, April 26. Usual time and place. Please put these dates on your calendar and plan to join us. Gilbert

 Thursday, April 18:  Maundy Thursday We’ve posted a sign-up sheet in the reception room for the Agape supper, to be held in the Parish Hall at 6 pm. Please sign-up and let us know how many in your party.


TIME TO FILL THE EGGS:  Fill the eggs with WRAPPED candies & small trinkets – NO PEANUTS! Bags of empty eggs are in the Gallery/Reception Room. Return all filled eggs by Palm Sunday.

ALTAR FLOWERS:  Please consider a donation for altar flowers! Just fill out an Altar Flowers request card, available at all the church entrances. You may choose to do this to remember someone or perhaps to celebrate a special anniversary or birthday.  For a donation of fifty dollars the Flower Guild will purchase and arrange flowers and the name(s) of the loved ones being honored will be noted in the service bulletins of the weekend services of the chosen date.

CHS FEATURED ARTIST:  Gail+ has been painting, quilting and writing poetry for most of her adult life. “When I paint or sew or write, it is a form of prayer for me. They are also often a time of quiet for me in the midst of a busy schedule…a Sabbath time. My art offerings this month are a sample of what I have done in the past five years. I have called my book of poetry “Gleanings.” So, I thought I would call my art offering this month Sabbath Gleanings.” Enjoy her show! While you are in the Gallery – sign up to exhibit/sell your art/craft/gift for one month in 2019.

FREE SHOP: Your Spring clothing donations are most welcomed. We are open Monday: 12 Noon to 3 pm and Wednesday: 10 am to 1 pm. Summer schedule sign up:  There will be a sign up calendar for July and August on the bulletin board in the side entry way to the parish hall. HEALTH MINISTRIES COMMITTEE:  March is Brain Health Awareness month! Did you know to keep your brain healthy-first start with your heart? Yes! Keep the blood flowing to your brain by not smoking, controlling high blood pressure, keep cholesterol levels down and exercise! Next, try to get enough sleep, 7-9 hours a night. Stations of the Cross: Gail’s+ quilted Stations of the Cross will be in the church throughout Lent. While we won’t be holding formal scheduled Stations services, booklets with Stations devotions will be available in church for anyone to use, at any time that other services or activities are not going on.
