FAREWELL CELEBRATION FOR ADAM+ AND LORI LINTON –
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27 – We hope you will ALL join us at 10 am on October 27th for our final service with Adam+. So that we can all worship together for this special day, THERE WILL BE NO 5 pm SERVICE on SATURDAY 10/26 AND NO 8:00 a.m. SERVICE ON SUNDAY 10/27. Following the service everyone is invited to the Parish Hall for a celebration of Adam+ and Lori’s ten years with us. STEWARDSHIP TIME 2020…OUR TIME: It is Stewardship season at the Church of the Holy Spirit. Letters and Pledge Cards have been mailed to every household. If you not have received your mailing, please contact the Church Office and one will be mailed to you or pick one up on the desk in the Reception Room. With each of us making a Pledge, we can continue the vital and varied ministries of the Parish. Receiving all Pledges by the first Sunday of October would be very helpful as next year’s budget is planned. They may be returned by mail, offering, or to the Church Office.
Sunday, October 6: Youth breakfast – After the 10 am service in the Parish Hall, please join us for another wonderful brunch prepared and served by our youth group. October’s Menu: Individual Omelets, Ham, Wheat Toast, Fruit & Juice, Coffee Tea, $8 per person; Children under 18 are free.
CHS HEALTH MINISTRIES: Cape Cod Healthcare is providing a free service to groups interested in learning how to make the plans we may all prefer to ignore: Advance Care Planning. Learn how to start the conversations, identify a healthcare agent, and more. CHURCH SCHOOL NEWS: The 2019-2020 Church School Year has begun! SAVE THE DATE – Friday October 18 – Pumpkin Carving – details and sign up are on Church School and Youth Group Bulletin boards. Plans are underway for a Middle School Retreat (5th – 9th Graders) November 15-17 at the Barbara Harris Camp in Greenfield, NH. These retreats are always great fun. Interested? CHS SCHOLARSHIP AWARD: The Church of the Holy Spirit awards a $1000 scholarship to a deserving senior who attends and contributes to the church. This can be for a collegiate or other school of higher learning. This year we have a bumper crop of 5 seniors. The scholarship committee is asking for donations to the fund as all of the seniors are worthy of the award. Please help by sending a check to the church made out to the CHS scholarship fund. Thank you very much.
Friday, October 11: MONTHLY GARDEN PARTY – 8:30 am to 12 Noon. Please join our happy group of volunteers who enjoy keeping our church grounds looking good. There will be lots of clean up and fall preparations to do. Bring your tools (or use ours) and we will show you what to do.
Sunday, October 20: OUTREACH SUNDAY – In the Parish Hall after the 10 am service. The CHS Outreach Ministry team is holding its biennial charitable agency fair of displays and representatives from many of the local groups that we support and work with. There will also be a brief presentation at the 10:00 service about our wonderful Outreach program. Please join us and learn about how our parish outreach is making a difference in many lives.

CHS FEATURED ARTIST: The Gallery display for September showcases Ruth Campbell’s favorite children’s stories in which a biblical passage was more clearly understood and illuminated for Ruth. Children’s books are for grownups too! Come by, read a story to see and hear what Biblical message you find. FREE SHOP: Your Fall clothing donations are most welcomed. We are open Monday: 12 Noon to 3 pm and Wednesday: 10 am to 1 pm. Donations can be dropped off during shop hours or placed in the box outside the shop door any time the parish hall is open. Needed – paper shopping bags with handles, the Free Shop has gone green!
