Participants in the Senior High Sunday School class, accompanied by several of their parents, will undertake a special week-long retreat with Father Adam and Lori Linton this July in Glacier National Park, Montana.
Detailed preparations are already underway. This retreat, which will take place at the family homestead inside the Park, will involve prayer, fellowship, guided hikes—and recreation, too.
The retreat is the culmination of the class’ work this year engaging the hard questions that modern faith faces, connecting with core affirmations, and fostering the class members’ growth in their own spiritual journey and leadership. Father Adam and Lori co-teach the class, held on Sunday evenings twice a month, with a parent present in rotation each class preparing the supper.
Glacier National Park is one of the great places on the continent—and, indeed, on the planet. The historic road that goes through the park is called Going to the Sun Highway,” which we’ve adapted for the name of this pilgrimage: “Going to the Son!”
Young people will be engaging in some fund-raising efforts in support of this project. So, look for some bake sales and car washes here at church in the coming weeks. Those with questions are welcome to speak with Father Adam or Lori Linton, or Susanna Graham Pye.
